Vael is a Prydaen who organized and lead the remaining hubs in the west for a last stand against Lyras's undead army ca. 354 AV. Killed Lyras, but Lyras just rose again. Helped to create the Great Barrier.
His wife is Seralor. Vael blames himself for Sharlir's death. His name means "Leader".
At one point, had been trying to set up a new Hub for the Prydaen somewhere on this side of the Great Barrier.
