[Inn of the Crystal Wave, Entry Hall]
The ceiling soars high overhead, a puzzle of crossing and joined beams, brightly illuminated by windows filling the top half of the front and rear walls. The floor is crystalline-etched in swirling patterns that give the impression of sea foam. Low planters divide small conversation nooks filled with couches and soft padded chairs. A glass door to the rear leads to a garden area. You also see a crystal wave and a young chambermaid.

A broad patio of grey flagstones spans almost the entire rear of the inn, covered by a glazed lattice that allows a view of the night sky. Glass-topped tables are scattered among young silver plum trees sparkling with tiny lights, a few in private corners, and the scent of blooming flowers from the lawn beyond scents the air. In the distance, bright streaks on the water reveal where night boaters on Lake Chawalkas pursue their business, or their romances. You also see a glass door leading back into the inn and a small dance floor.
