FOCUS: You focus your magical senses on an ashcloak sewn heavily with misshapen shards of scarlet rhodochrosite. The ashcloak has been underlaid with an elegant Fire Manipulation pattern, its rhodochrosite clasp operating as the enchantment's keystone. It is currently dormant.

Lighting:
<Person> touches a glowing finger to the rhodochrosite clasp of his ashcloak. Translucent lines the color of the gem race down the garment's surface, igniting it in fiery splendor. (Item changes to "an ashcloak branded with a myriad of brightly burning scarlet sigils")

Verbs

You think that you can FOCUS, RECALL, INHALE, EXHALE, EAT, HUG, CLEAN, BOW, TURN, and RUB the ashcloak. (RECALL seems to be Bard only)

<Person> grasps the hem of his leather ashcloak and sweeps it dramatically out as he bows low.
<Person> brushes his hand across the surface of his leather ashcloak, sending up a cloud of flaming ash that settles back where it was.
<Person> casually runs a finger through the edge of his leather ashcloak, collecting a wad of ash. He then shoves it into his mouth and smiles broadly.
<Person> turns his head and casually blows some fine soot from the shoulder of his leather ashcloak.
<Person> draws an ashcloak sewn heavily with misshapen shards of scarlet rhodochrosite tightly around himself, a light rain of soot falling off of it.
<Person> gathers up the hem of his leather ashcloak and presses it to his nose, inhaling deeply.
<Person> drapes an ashcloak sewn heavily with misshapen shards of scarlet rhodochrosite around his shoulders with a flourish, eliciting a cloud of ash.
As <Person> removes an ashcloak branded with a myriad of brightly burning scarlet sigils from his shoulders, it becomes extinguished.
<Person> rubs his hand across the rhodochrosite clasp on his leather ashcloak, clearing a thin layer of ash from it.
<Person> takes up a corner of his leather ashcloak and spins rapidly. For a few moments, a spray of soot black ash forms a miniature vortex around him.

Recall

This ashcloak is a devolved imitation of what once was a tool of survival in the Time of the Clans. At least one fire cabal you remember reading about, consisting of Human and Dwarven mages, chose to live in the too-close proximity of a volcano, due the enormity of Elemental mana it generated. The enchanted ashcloaks they wore defended them from the toxic, sweltering atmosphere for several decades. It is said that, in the end, all of their enchantments -- as well as themselves -- gave out against the forces of nature, and Ushnish smiled.

You are at a loss for the name or location of the volcano, however.
