Lanival (the Redeemer)

Son of Sorril and Kanton. Was raised as an orphan by Kanton's clan until it was absorbed by the Ram Clan of Akroeg. Became a wanderer. Seven hundred years after Akroeg and the crumbling of Akroeg's empire, Lanival began to unite clans again with the help of Sable, his sister. The war with Teiro, an elf, lasted twelve years, ending with the Guardians Glacis, Eerayn, and Silduaa assisting Lanival in a final battle. According to legend, he was shortly thereafter ambushed near the Dragon Spine mountains by five elven assasins which, though it did not kill him, forced him into a sleep from which he will someday awake.

There is a story of a highly popular and well-received Paladin of the Gor'Togs who helped drive back the Dragon Priests. There are further claims that this Gor'Tog was Lanival returned. Since Lanival's mother was Elven and his father was Human, this claim is, of course, highly dubious to most knowledgable scholars, and the champion himself never substantiated these claims by acknowledging them.
