Notes
- This immediately bypasses all traps and locks on the box so that you can safely open it and collect any treasure inside.
- The original traps and locks remain on the box. If you wish to disarm and pick them, use the key to relock the box.
- LOOK at the key to see how many uses remain. At 999,999,999 uses, it's effectively unlimited.
Bugs
- You cannot DISMANTLE boxes opened with the skeleton key so you'll need to dispose of them another way, or relock the box and disarm/pick the old-fashioned way then dismantle it.
Verbs
- STUDY: You think you could TURN the key at a locked box to unlock it, or TURN the key at a previously locked box to lock it again.
- TURN KEY AT <BOX>:
- (when box is locked)
> turn key at coffer You turn a vardite skeleton key at a crooked copper coffer and a soft glow surrounds it. The key writhes in your hand. A sharp click emanates from the locking mechanism. > open coffer You open the copper coffer...
