Appearance

Inactive Appearance

Seated behind his desk, the Guildleader Varsyth is a silver-scaled S'Kra Mur dressed in subdued grays and reds. Everything about him suggests that he is a normal businessman, apparently completely unarmed. A satchel rests against his side, and as he works on various business you note that every paper comes straight out of the satchel when worked on and is placed back equally quickly when finished with, leaving his desk vacant.

He looks up to regard you briefly, and as blue eyes appraise you, you almost think you see the shadows behind him shift slightly.

Active Appearance

You see Merchant (a thief Serpent) Varsyth, a S'Kra Mur.
Varsyth has slitted crystal blue eyes, silver scales, a long tail and a lean build.
He is young for a S'Kra Mur.

He is wearing a grey leather satchel with a red tassled fringe, a loose red silken vest with elaborate grey stitching along the back, some moldy robes, an albredine crystal ring, a grey snakeskin belt buckled with a simple silver clasp, a lengthened snug grey leather tailband, some soft grey leather pants and a pair of soft red leather boots with silver lacing.

Conversation Topics

  • BACKSTAB
Varsyth bares his fangs in a grin, "Our signature skill, some say. Quite good at felling bipeds, but it's not going to help you any on many animals. Try ambushing instead."
Varsyth says, "Each guildleader has a spot on the Council, it's how worldwide Guild business is decided. Generally though, each of us handles our areas as we see fit."
Varsyth says, "One of the two lovebirds. It's good to see they've gotten less careless, lately."
Varsyth says, "Our leader across the sea. Pretty dangerous, for somebody who runs their guild like a pencil-pusher. Don't underestimate him."
  • GUILD
"Thieves," Varsyth says, "Are many things. Burglars that slip into buildings unseen, pilferers that 'acquire' goods from stores, and even the legitimate locksmiths that sit upon the green. All of them share one thing in common. The Guild. While generally, most of us don't have to worry about the Guild larger than one of these halls, the organization as a whole strives to protect us from the watchful eyes of the authorities. For indeed, we are Thieves, and we are not wanted in society. Best that you remember that, for hard times are always upon us when it is forgotten."
  • HELP
Varsyth peers at you quizzically, "What exactly would you like help with, <NAME>? Is it about the GUILD, your TRAINING, or are you looking to learn about our SKILLS? Of course, I know more than that, but those're the basics."
Varsyth says, "Kalag the Black. He did a lot for the guild, but unfortunately no great leader stays great forever. I think I'll leave it at that."
  • KHRI
"Tricks to focus your mind," Varsyth shrugs, "Some claim they're like magic, since nobody but a trained Thief can manage them, but they just don't want to admit we've got the true hold on enlightenment." Varsyth winks.
  • LOCKPICK
Varsyth says, "You can find some at Ragge's shop near Trollferry Quay. Mind the traps, however, I don't want to train you just to have you blow yourself to bits."
Varsyth says, "Another Mur, like me. She never liked the old guild, who knows if her feelings have changed any with me in charge.
Varsyth says, "One of the two lovebirds. It's good to see they've gotten less careless, lately."
  • STEAL
Varsyth bares his fangs in a grin, "Our signature skill, some say. Try not to get in trouble too often with the guards, I'd hate to have to kill you for bringing heat down. Just play it safe until you can discover your limits."
  • VARSYTH
"You're interested in me, eh?" Varsyth flashes you a grin. "I was just a regular Thief here in Zoluren until the Council saw fit to promote me. It's proof that we're a meritocratic brotherhood, with enough hard work and effort, even you could be one of the next guildleaders when time comes. Although, it doesn't hurt to have a tail." He winks.
  • WEAPON
Varsyth shrugs, "Use whatever weapons you want. I recommend light or medium edges, brawling, light throwing weapons, or crossbows, but we'll promote you as long as you practice with any two types.
  • Everything else
Varsyth gives you an annoyed look, "Stop wasting my time."
  • EXPERIENCE/RANK (ready to advance)
Varsyth gives you a long look before saying, "Well, <NAME>, you look like you've met our requirements, but Council regulations say I can't promote you further than your current rank until I've been on the job longer. Unfortunately, you'll need to check in with a different GuildLeader.
