It's more a matter of specialization instead of generalization in their cases. Nightlark, Drathok, Raellia, Yutwian, etc were so competent in their respective specializations that they instead were placed into a position of Pit Master. This is one reason that Raellia went rogue quite a few years ago. A feeling that it was a lower position, rather than a lateral shift.
