Srinoja
Status: Alive
Race: Gnome
Gender: Female
Type: pirate
Associates: Kauga, Sivroch

Originally a pirate and the captain of the Hangman's Pursuit, Srinoja was cut down during the naval battle of Chandu, Arhat 25-26 438, as she attempted to slay Admiral Khoheke. Her body was recovered by the being known as Sivroch and repurposed as a demonic vessel.

Pirate Escapades

Srinoja was a flamboyant character during her time as a pirate. Some of the best tidbits (pilfered from the official Discord server) come from GM Irenos, who ran the NPC:

  • Srinoja came from a player event e-mail because one person decided, "I want to talk to pirates about a Lich."
  • Her debut was responding to a letter she stole that was intended for someone else. That letter was even posted on her wall.
  • Srinoja is always honest. She's just creative with how honest she can be.
  • When Srinoja is bored, she invents her own idea of fun. Which usually involves stealing something weird from someone.
  • Srinoja is a pirate who sets bad bars on fire for serving milk and has a deal (and is possibly unintentionally protecting) with a Lich.

Srinoja had been fighting both Jeihrem and Khoheke Moglin in order to keep pirating, but realized the three were at an impasse and made a deal with the devil with the lich Jeihrem to fight House Moglin's ships. Srinoja had publicly stated that she "don't like fingerwagglers" and "don't like 'em deadmans," indicating that she's probably was not okay with Necromancy but was okay with someone else using it as long as it stays away from her and helps her out against Moglin.

Srinoja had likely coordinated with the Lich on specific actions. There'd been some specific timing that's a little suspect (Srinoja raided Aesry at the exact same time as Jeihrem invading Ratha), and she most definitely had been hopping in and out of his territory to pick fights with bigger, better ships. She was not a Necro and wasn't super Necro-happy -- her approach was that his Necro-ness is really the Temple's problem, not something for her to deal with, and she doesn't really care about planar stuff, so the "Enemy of my Enemy" approach was her modus operandi.

Until her body was recovered by Sivroch...

Appearance

You see Airship Larcenist Srinoja, Captain of the Aloof Gannet, a Gnome Pirate. Srinoja has a thick, asperous scar descending downward across the left side of her face, extending down to her square jaw. Her right eye is steely grey. In contrast, her left eye is swollen and jaundiced, with unnaturally thick veins bulging outwards surrounding an amorphous iris with a slitted pupil that appears to focus independently, peering curiously about. Heavy black bags appear beneath each of her close-set eyes, framing her mangled and scarred nose. Her curly hair is shot with streaks of white, resembling the choppy waves of a storm-wracked sea. She has a heavy-set figure with weathered, leathery skin covered in an interlacing pattern of faded tattoos. Srinoja's right eye gleams with reddish-green light. Unnaturally thick veins bulge outwards and surround an amorphous iris that peers curiously about. She appears to be an adult.
Her arms are covered in faded green sleeve tattoos of sea serpents coiling around them, the maw of a beast opening wide on the back of each of her hands.

Srinoja appears to cast no visible shadow.
She is in good shape.

She is holding a slice of chocolate cake in her right hand and a cutlass in her left.
She is wearing a mariner's sochi (cloak) adorned with a golden compass, some thick sharkskin leathers with fitted seams, a faded sharkskin buckler, a morgawr-scale sword belt with an unadorned telescope and a windsteel naval cutlass hanging from it and some knee-high black leather boots with thick cuffs.

The Nightmare

You see Unwaking Sliver Srinoja, Vessel of the Dream Eater, a Nightmare Reflection.
What remains of Srinoja is merely an amorphous shadow, bearing no distinct features. Instead, you only see a grotesque representation of your own. A mass of ethereal tendrils extrude from her back, twisting upward and outward as if reaching of their own volition along the surface of a pair of large, fulginious wings, small reflections glinting within its membrane like stars in the night's sky.
She appears to be an adult.
Her body bears myriad but distinct twisted reflections not unlike a shattered mirror. Present in each faceted glimpse, a single orange eye -- bloodshot and slitted -- peers out at you.
She is in good shape.
She is wearing a veil of living shadow bearing shards of a thousand warped reflections.

The Pirate

This is how Srinoja looked during her days as a pirate:

You see Freebooter Srinoja, Captain of the Hangman's Pursuit, a Gnome Pirate.
Srinoja has a thick, asperous scar descending downward across the left side of her face, extending beneath a simple black leather eye patch and downward to her square jaw. Her visible right eye is steely grey and closely set to her misshapen, scarred nose. Her snow-white-streaked grey hair is shoulder length and curly, and is worn arranged in ringlets. She has weathered, leathery skin covered in an interlacing pattern of faded tattoos, and a heavy-set figure.
She appears to be an adult.
Her arms are covered in faded green sleeve tattoos of sea serpents coiling around them, the maw of a beast opening wide on the back of each of her hands.
She is in good shape.

She is holding a heavy windlass-drawn crossbow in her right hand.
She is wearing a white-plumed peaked cap of weathered black felt, a mariner's sochi adorned with a golden compass, a multi-strapped nightsilk smuggler's bandolier, a stormwood crossbow with a firestained ka'hurst inlay, some thick sharkskin leathers with fitted seams, a hooked abyssal-black buckler fashioned from a chitinous kraken beak, a morgawr-scale sword belt with an unadorned telescope and a windsteel naval cutlass hanging from it, a shadowy black quiver with a white ironwood clasp and some knee-high black leather boots with thick cuffs.
