This is a consolidated page that describes the mechanics of an item with many cosmetic variations, such as Hollow Eve gifts. Please document functionality, verbs, and other important information here instead of posting it on individual item pages. This ensures that all of the documentation is on one page instead of having it scattered across multiple pages; it also simplifies collaboration.

You may still create/edit individual item pages to add looks and other appraisal data, but please include a link to this page where players can read about how the item works.

Verbs

  • STUDY: You study your <metal> coin and believe you can LOOK at the face of the <metal> coin and TURN it over to see the other side. In addition, you think you can FLIP it to land either on heads or tails, SPIN it and ROLL it across your knuckles.
  • SPIN: A quick scan of the area nets you a fairly flat and smooth surface to attempt your trick. Holding the <metal> coin upright with one finger, you flick the edge with another, sending the coin spinning wildly. As it slows, the coin tips, begins to lean and rolls on its rim. It wobbles more and until it comes to an abrupt stop. You pick it up.
  • ROLL: With a flourish you produce the <metal> coin hidden in your palm and begin to roll it down your fingers from the index to the little finger and back again.
  • FLIP: You put your thumb under your <metal> coin and flip it high into the air. When it falls, you snatch it from the air and slap it on your wrist! The coin lands [side] up.

Variations

An example is a commemorative razaksel coin with rippled edges.
