First discovered when searching the Pejek region of Therengia, this gem is found encapsulated within petrified peat nestled far below the surface. The ground's high water content combined with rare minerals in the bedrock cause accumulations of silica and other elements during the crystallization process.
Named for the dragon's mouth orchid that grows primarily in bogs, the alexandrite has been magically enhanced to suppress its greener shades in favor of colors reminiscent of the flower's velvety petals.
Depending on the lighting, the jewel exhibits silvery indigo, vivid pink or twilight purple hues.
