Don't know if this is of any use, but I'm a 40th circle ranger and I am unable to instruct any of the tricks shown in the table. Will keep you posted as to when I can instruct them. Only instruction of any kind I have been able to do yet is teaching someone Bareback riding. Lysorla 02/03/10

I think the horse page is finally done! I've been working on it in sections over the last couple of weeks. I tried to make sure all the data was there, but not TOO verbose and still interesting to read. It's a very large and detailed topic. But please feel free to go through and hack it a bit. I probably missed a few links. Some information I simply couldn't get my hands on, like the verbiage when you're selling a horse at a broker (I remember when I tried to buy my horse, it took us 10 minutes or so to figure out the verbiage), so if anyone knows that, please add it to the buying horse section!

Appraising Horse

Wonder when this changed or is it one of those bugs that will never get fixed? Appraising horse doesn't show if its hungry or in need of grooming anymore. Instead it treats the horse as a monster. It works appraisal fairly well since you can appraise quick, normal and careful. But that's no longer the way to tell if the horse is hungry or dirty. Should this be updated on this page?

Behold: look at horse > The silver grey horse is sixteen hands high with a medium dark grey coat and white highlights. It has a light grey mane and tail. The gelding has a narrow white stripe running from below the left eye to just above the nostrils. The horse is wearing a chestnut brown raised snaffle bridle with polished edges and long laced reins. You recognize your brand on the horse's flank.

app horse > You are certain that the silver grey horse is healthy. You think it is likely that it is not quite as agile as you are. You estimate that it is about as quick to react as you are. You think it is likely that it is a great deal stronger than you are. Fighting with no weapon, you think it is likely that the silver grey horse is a difficult opponent.

So on a related note, does anyone know how to tell if the horse is in need of care now?

yep, STUDY horse. I'll put it in the article. BTW I think it's always been that way, at least it has for quite a few years. --Farman 12:06, 20 December 2007 (CST)
FYI please append your comments with ~~~~ (which adds your user name and a timestamp) so everyone knows who's talking :) There's a button on the toolbar above the edit window with a little signature squiggle that adds it automatically. --Farman 12:10, 20 December 2007 (CST)

Thanks! I asked on the main forums too. I wonder if we could get a list of known bugs on here. It might help people new to horses. For example - I had a hard time getting through the Theren Gate last night. Took a few tries before it would let me ride or lead the horse through.

I definitely think any helpful tidbits about the commands and such would really help folks. So find a place and add it! --Naeya (talk) 19:48, 20 December 2007 (CST)

Horse Wrangling

Tried catching my first horse yesterday and I was successful. Unfortunately when I went to leave the horse would not follow. No site I have looked at regarding how to catch a horse (This site has the most info BTW) has mentioned needing other equipment other than a lead rope, nor how to get the horse to come with you so a pard doesn't eat it. How is it done? Thanks--Connor 10:33, 3 June 2008 (CDT)

Instructing Horse on War

After spending 2 days talking to Paladins and Rangers regarding the horse command war. I went to the Mews in Crossing and asked the Stableman about it. He turned right around and taught it to me. So while a Paladin may need to be 50th circle to learn it for himself, he does not teach it to a Ranger to teach a horse, the Ranger can get it from the Stableman.Connor 13:33, 12 June 2008 (CDT)
