| Combat maneuver that makes a reasonably paced, balance-building attack with a held melee weapon, best suited to puncture damage. It is one of the specific maneuvers that make up weapon combos. |
| Unknown |
The THRUST command drives a held melee weapon point-first at an opponent. It is one of the puncture maneuvers, alongside JAB and LUNGE, and builds balance while dealing damage.
Syntax
- THRUST
- Attack the enemy you are already engaged with, or pick a new one if you are not engaged.
- THRUST <enemy>
- Attack the indicated enemy.
- THRUST <enemy> <body part>
- Attack the indicated enemy, aiming for the named body part.
- THRUST LEFT <enemy>
- Attack with the weapon in your off hand, training Offhand Weapon skill alongside the weapon skill.
- THRUST HELP
- Basic syntax help. THRUST HELP FULL gives the maneuver's mechanical profile, and THRUST HELP LIST lists the other combat options.
Detailed Information
Thrust is a damage dealing maneuver.
Thrust tends to be a somewhat fatiguing maneuver. Attacking again too soon can make this worse.
Thrust tends to be balance building.
Thrust is a reasonably paced maneuver, but heavy or unbalanced weapons can slow the attack further.
Thrust is more accurate than most maneuvers, and is best suited to puncture weapons and least suited to both slice and impact weapons.
Thrust temporarily penalizes all defenses, but is best suited for parry defenses and least suited for evasion defenses.
Notes
- SLICE, SWING, THRUST, SLAM and PUMMEL all share a minimum roundtime. See Roundtime for the figures by weapon weight.
- Thrust cannot be used while grappled. Use JAB instead.
