Detailed Information
Swing is a damage dealing maneuver.
Swing tends to be a somewhat fatiguing maneuver. Attacking again too soon can make this worse.
Swing tends to be balance building.
Swing is a reasonably paced maneuver, but heavy or unbalanced weapons can slow the attack further.
Swing is more accurate than most maneuvers, and is best suited to impact weapons and least suited to both puncture and slice weapons.
Swing temporarily penalizes all defenses, but is equally suited to both evasion and shield defenses and least suited to parry defenses.
Non-Combat Usage
Outside combat, SWING is also used to swing across a gap on a rope or vine, and to swing an item you are holding.
SWING also has the following usage:
SWING LOOK
SWING [TO] {direction|DOWN|OUT|item} ON {item}
SWING {item} [around] or [over|head]
- SWING LOOK
- List the directions you can swing to from where you are standing.
- SWING <direction> ON <item>
- Swing in the named direction on the named item. DOWN and OUT are also accepted in place of a compass direction.
- SWING <item>
- Swing a held item around or over your head.
Notes
- SLICE, SWING, THRUST, SLAM and PUMMEL all share a minimum roundtime. See Roundtime for the figures by weapon weight.
