| Combat maneuver that makes a quick, balance-neutral impact attack with a held melee weapon. It is one of the specific maneuvers that make up weapon combos. |
| Unknown |
The PUMMEL command beats at an opponent with a held melee weapon. It is the cheapest of the impact attacks: quick, only somewhat fatiguing, and balance neutral, so it neither builds nor spends balance.
Syntax
- PUMMEL
- Attack the enemy you are already engaged with, or pick a new one if you are not engaged.
- PUMMEL <enemy>
- Attack the indicated enemy.
- PUMMEL <enemy> <body part>
- Attack the indicated enemy, aiming for the named body part.
- PUMMEL LEFT <enemy>
- Attack with the weapon in your off hand, training Offhand Weapon skill alongside the weapon skill.
- PUMMEL HELP
- Basic syntax help. PUMMEL HELP FULL gives the maneuver's mechanical profile, and PUMMEL HELP LIST lists the other combat options.
Detailed Information
Pummel is a damage dealing maneuver.
Pummel tends to be a somewhat fatiguing maneuver. Attacking again too soon can make this worse.
Pummel tends to be balance neutral.
Pummel is a quick maneuver, but heavy or unbalanced weapons can slow the attack further.

Pummel temporarily penalizes all defenses, but is equally suited to both evasion and shield defenses and least suited to parry defenses.
Notes
- SLICE, SWING, THRUST, SLAM and PUMMEL all share a minimum roundtime. See Roundtime for the figures by weapon weight.
