Description: As is obvious from its name, the Sidhlot's Flaying spell was developed by the Bone Elves. Gruesomely, this magic will rip the skin from its target, bearing its bloodied musculature for all to see. Some speculate that it is used to prepare certain, special forms of undead, or to allow the Bone Elves to better understand the anatomy of their foes, yet it clearly can be used to further the causes of pain and suffering. Particularly devastating results have been observed on already bleeding wounds.
Effect: Puncture damage, Slice damage, Targets damage to skin and nerves. Worsens bleeding wounds and interferes with tending.
Example Messaging: You gesture, drawing your hands out and back fluidly.
Between your hands, ichorous yellow-black needles twist into existence, like suppurating wounds in the air. They are drawn into a circle facing the Dragon Priest assassin.

Hit:
The Dragon Priest assassin's skin is momentarily pinched outward in several places.
A Dragon Priest assassin curses and then viciously snarls, "My shadowed brethren shall avenge my death!" before expiring with a gurgling hiss.

Hit:
As if assailed by an invisible beast, the Dragon Priest assassin's skin is ripped and pulled, violently shredded from within.
The Dragon Priest assassin is knocked completely senseless!

Hit:
Great sections of the Dragon Priest assassin's skin are ripped away and suctioned toward you, pelting you with a grisly red rain.
The Dragon Priest assassin is knocked completely senseless!

Hit:
With a horrendous suction noise, the Dragon Priest assassin is bodily lifted and held afloat. Cracks form in its flesh, in the semblance of parched earth under the sun, exposing the blood and muscle beneath. Amid screams it becomes flayed in one horrific instant, unseen forces tearing broad swathes of skin from its body and scattering them with wet plops.

Miss:
You gesture, drawing your hands out and back fluidly.
Between your hands, ichorous yellow-black needles twist into existence, like suppurating wounds in the air. They are drawn into a circle facing the Dragon Priest assassin.
Your necromancy is unable to reach the Dragon Priest assassin, the circle of needles falling apart.

Devices/Tattoos: No devices or tattoos documented.

Notes

  • Scroll only. Cannot be permanently memorized. It is cast sorcerously, even by guilded Necromancers.
  • Is not targeted, but uses the Targeted Magic skill. It is PREPAREd, then CAST at the target.
  • Causes damage to the target’s skin and nerves.
  • Worsens bleeders, and viciously interferes with TENDing. This shows up as a curse, similar to a spell like Malediction.
  • The target's messaging refers to "what smells like diseased air flows past" their defenses. They also see: "Your wounds leak yellow-black ichor." Uncertain if the spell transmits actual disease, or if this is simply how the curse effect manifests itself.
  • Casting this spell inside a standard justice zone generates Social Outrage.
  • It is not DFA or armor-ignoring.[1]
