It would be nice if this whole article were sorted by front-end, or at least if the front-end were labeled in the chart. --Isharon 17:39, 25 April 2010 (UTC) |

An easy-to-use template for adding scripts would be great, with instructions at the top of the page on how to do it. --Kraelyst 06:58, 10 November 2007 (CST) |

His site is dead. As he and his wife haven't played in some time (about 2 years or more now) we should really look into archiving the scripts. I know some of them are probably way too big to be hosted on Elanthipedia, so we should really look into an alternative for this. I changed some information that pointed to his site on the BOAT page. Most (if not all) of the website is still archived at WWW.ARCHIVE.ORG so I suggest it all be pulled out ASAP. I'm not as savvy with the wiki code as some of you, so I'm just letting you all know. --Ysselt 19:49, 11 May 2009 (UTC) |

I tend to agree to a point. I can tell you as a newb posting at this site... I literally spent hours trying to figure out how to post a script and was frustrated to say the least. However, as an alternative perspective, one should consider that with ease of posting scripts comes the potential of a deluge of scripts. This has pros and cons. I merely point out my experience at other sites trying to sift through numerous scripts and wading with another kind of frustration. --Mendaleev 00:38, 26 June 2008 (CDT)
- Well I've been thinking about this, and it might be best to do something like MediaWiki does for extensions. Setup a Script: namespace so scripts would be like... Script:Climbwall or something equally descriptive... Have an info box with a download link similar to this, give instructions on what sections to include, and then have the script included in the pre tags on the page for those who want to peruse the script text before downloading. The script writer will need to keep the script file updated as well, but that's easily explained for new users. Thoughts?--Naeya (talk) 12:39, 26 June 2008 (CDT)
- Going to be honest with you Naeya, I understood about half of that... my understanding of web mechanics is very limited. I did discern your attention to making a quality product for customer use; which I admire. There are two issues at hand if I am grasping it (and its likely I am not following jargon): 1) Kraelyst's original message discussing the ease by which the producer can post a script and 2) the best way for the user to find and download a desired script. The www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:ImageMap example is very similar in nature to a template I found from a previously posted script here... not sure who made that template but it was very well done. To boil it down... am I understanding that you could make a link on the script page that says "hey script writer, click here to post your script" which, when clicked, would open up another page with a template. The writer would then fill in description boxes, script sections, etc... and at the bottom would be a button which says "when you are ready to post this script click here"? If so, that would make it much much easier to post (eh, even I can click a button). My only concern, and its a minor one, is directed to the customer side... by way of an exagerated example, what if in a few months there a ten thousand scripts posted. When a user opens up the script page, is there a mechanism for him to sort/search the scripts without spending hours of clicking things? I may be way off base as I have no real idea how these things work. Thanks.--Mendaleev 14:29, 26 June 2008 (CDT)
- If we add Semantic stuff (similar to how we're doing the Items, then it will indeed be easy to search the scripts based on certain criteria (like skills trained, location used, guild specific, FE, etc). And basically yes, it will be a template like structure, with a form so little wikicode knowledge is necessary, to fill in proper information about the script and with a detailed guide on how to actually input the script into the page + upload it to the server. Does that answer your questions?--Naeya (talk) 15:17, 26 June 2008 (CDT)
- Yes, indeed it does. Sounds great! Thanks. --Mendaleev 01:56, 27 June 2008 (CDT)
Empath transfer scripts
They were originally done by Clemency, but i modified them, so that's why there's two names there. I tried giving him full credit but he insisted on my name being added--Legeres 14:38, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
