|notes=*From Elderad's site: This spell creates a colorful little sphere that hovers next to you and follows you around. It will attempt to follow you every 6 seconds. So time until if follows you into a room will vary from 1 to 6 seconds, depending when you caught it on the pulse. To cast it you must CAST <CONSTELLATION>. It will attack any creature or player you POINT it at. The duration at minimum prep (13 mana) is 4 minutes and 30 seconds. At any time you can end the spell with the command BREAK SPHERE.

'''Attacking:'''
*The Good: Once you cast it, it sticks around until the duration is over, and can attack multiple times without having to be re-cast. You can also hide or go into Refractive Field after you send it to attack, and it will keep attacking, although the target may leave since you aren't visible. Makes a GREAT combo with Whole Displacement. Damage ranges from pretty good to awesome. Accuracy is fairly decent, but varies depending on the constellation you use. Starlight Sphere also teaches well. You can cast it over and over to work Primary Magic and Harness, or you can send it to attack and learn Targeted Magic.

The air takes on a sudden chill as a ''<adjective>'' ''<color>'' sphere flares and rushes at a ''<target>''!
*The Bad: Only castable at night. Clouds in the sky in front of the constellation decreases it's potency. If the target hides or leaves the area, the sphere stops attacking. Slow to attack (takes at least 10 seconds for the sphere to get close enough to attack). Since Starlight Sphere teaches so well, it is obviously difficult to cast, this means you can not 'snap' cast the spell. This really isn't an issue though, since the sphere is so slow to attack anyway.

*The Ugly: If you cast it in a room with water, or enter water while it is in effect, you're toast. The sphere will explode, stunning you, and giving your really bad nerve damage.

Description: For ages, the Starlight Sphere spell was thought to be a myth, and so has not been taught in the Guild. There are rumors that the knowledge of this spell is in the hands of a group of G'nar Pethians that dwell in Therenborough. Seek them to ask of such things.

The Starlight Sphere spell uses the energy of the stars to create a cold sphere of stellar magic that can be directed by the caster towards an enemy. The spell is considerably weaker when the sky is hidden by clouds, but can be cast indoors.

Attacking:

The air takes on a sudden chill as a <adjective> <color> sphere flares and rushes at a <target>!

A <target> stops suddenly, frozen in place by the flash of icy light, but only for a moment -- a flurry of activity follows as bones, flesh, and blood all snap, crackle, and rearrange themselves under the stress of the frigid starlight.

Usage

  • POINT sphere at your target.
You gesture at the sphere.
The <color> sphere begins to move ominously towards <target>.
