==Usage==
Herbs may be consumed directly, or used on another being. Given the wide variety of herbs and the many physical forms they can take, there are a number of methods by which they may be utilized.

Each dose of an herb will last for multiple pulses, where each successive pulse heals a slightly reduced amount of injury. Re-applying an herb before it has completed pulsing will result in special messaging but does not have any effect except to waste that dose.

==Potency==
The potency of an herb is related to the [[foraging skill]] of the person who collected it, and whether the herb was [[forage command|forage]]d carefully or precisely. Potency can also be increased through various [[Alchemy]] processes, or via the [[Sprout]] spell. It is believed that store-bought herbs cannot be improved by either method.

Generally speaking, foraged and alchemized herbs are more potent than those bought from conventional herb shops.

With only a few exceptions (see below), most herb types can be [[Foraging skill|foraged]]. Like all foraged items, their availability is dependent on numerous factors, including location, time of day, weather, and season, as well as the forager's skill and level of injury to hands and eyes.

All herb types can be purchased through various [[:Category:Herb_Shops|Herb Shops]], although not every shop sells every type of herb.

At present, the following herbs cannot be foraged at all and are only obtainable through shops or treasure drops:

Aevaes and Lujeakave are meta-herbs which are created by combining other herb types, and as such they cannot be foraged directly.
