Specific Types
Fire Maiden Topaz
- Vibrant reddish-yellow stone with slender white streaks at the center.
Imperial Topaz
- May refer to two things: A rare topaz with a brilliant golden yellow hue, or a topaz with seven rays instead of the more common six, called an Imperial Topaz in tribute to the Seven Star Empire.
Lion's Heart Topaz
?
Mystic Topaz
- Extracted from the mysterious depths beneath the Lesser Fist in Zoluren, this gem is scattered sporadically within the igneous bedrock, creating the need for careful calculations and precise procedures.
- With permission from the Moon Mages inhabiting the fortress within the dormant volcano, only the highest quality stones are removed from the ground, having developed under intense pressure and heat ages ago. Named for the numinous nature of the Monks, the topaz has been magically enhanced to display an array of colors spanning the breadth of colors found in dreams and fantasy.
- Depending on the lighting, the jewel exhibits vermillion-flecked teal, brilliant rainbow and brown-flecked purple hues.
- These gems are considered "rare" items, and must be provided for any alteration involving them. They are currently only available as part of jewelry sold by Blanve's Bounty.
- These cannot be added to weapons that have been bonded, and once added, the weapon cannot be bonded.[1]
Royal Zoluren Topaz
- A crystal clear pale yellow gem with tiny azure streaks and white inclusions running through the center.
Saffron Topaz
- Mined from an area north of Langenfirth, this topaz is a deep orange color like saffron. Uncut, it can at first glance resemble amber. One of the gems worked by Immokokkon and Sons.
Smoky Topaz
- Traditional and high-quality. Though the name is often associated with the dark brown color, it can range anywhere from dark yellow to near-ebony. One of the gems worked by Immokokkon and Sons.
Starfire Topaz
- A particularly vibrant bicolored blue and white (clear) topaz.
Xibar Topaz
- These topazes rain down from the sky when the moon Xibar moves especially close to Elanthia, which only happens once every few decades. While it remains close to Elanthia, special devices called gweriela can be used to send colored topazes that represent different emotions, although they vanish when Xibar moves away. The clear Xibar topazes that rain from the heavens remain, however, and are considered extremely rare.
