Sorcery

Nice work on the Sorcery page, but do you have a source for The Mana Field Hypothesis? I thought I'd read nearly all the sorcery lore and I can't recall this. -CARAAMON (talk) 22:43, 9 June 2014 (CDT)

And of course the moment I post that I remember where I saw it. Nevermind, I can't believe I forgot about it. -CARAAMON (talk) 22:45, 9 June 2014 (CDT)
Funny, I had intended to reference the post in question but forgot to do it and didn't get around to fixing it before you noticed. I added the reference so other people can find that post - Ithrios (talk) 23:27, 9 June 2014 (CDT)

Category Linking

So I noticed you made a slight error that could end up having some irritating results. I fixed it, but I wanted you to know what it was. If you want to link to a category, without adding the page to that category, you need to do it with "[[:Category:blahblah]]". If you don't include the colon at the beginning, it adds the page to the category, which can end up being confusing. -CARAAMON (talk) 03:43, 7 August 2014 (CDT)

Ahhh. Sorry about that. I am still learning wikicode so sometimes miss things.Ithrios (talk)

Contact

For some reason I thought I saved you as a contact in my AIM buddy list, but I managed to not do so. Could you send me another IM, please? I'll try to save it this time. ;)--ABSOLON (talk) 17:34, 15 October 2014 (CDT)

I tried to send you a message but it looks like you don't accept offline messages. My AIM is Ithrios so it shouldn't be too tough. Also, can you look at the Aevaes page and tell me what you think of the location format? I am not entirely happy with the look but am also at a loss add far as how I can improve itIthrios (talk) 22:36, 19 October 2014 (CDT)

Contest Contest CONTEST!

Considering your work on Moon Mage Guide‎, you may wish to help with Moon Mage Newbie Help Guide‎ as part of the contest. -CARAAMON (talk) 20:23, 27 October 2014 (CDT)

Oops, and here I thought I was working on the right page for that.Ithrios (talk) 20:37, 27 October 2014 (CDT)

Removing additional information from the housing pages

hi there! I noticed you've been going through and cleaning up many of the housing area pages. I think it is conflicting with another ongoing project though, which is my addition of the picked flowers and foods around Elanthia, many of which are found in the housing areas. It was decided that instead of making a separate page for an area just for those items, if there was already an existing "location"-type page (housing area, guildhall, etc) in place, to just add links to those picked items to that existing page. I'm happy to make formatting changes going forward to stay in-line with your housing area page clean up, but please do not remove entirely the picked item information (ex. Whitehall Commons information was completely removed). Thanks! --Kythryn 11:07, 29 May 2015 (CDT)

Sure, no problem! I actually probably did that inadvertently since I have wrote a script to collect the data and write the wiki code for me (it makes the updates much faster). I have tried to check before I overwrite everything but it looks like I missed your edits.
Thanks! Your script sure sounds like a great time-saver (sanity-saver!). Maybe we can add a line at the very top of the wiki-code on pages where we have additional area information, so that when you go in to copy/paste that you can tell at a glance there is more on a given page than the housing information?
I copy/pasted the information back into your recent update of the Whitehall Commons and I put a line at the top after the initial PCData tag as a starter for discussion. I'm not tied to the wording of that, but wanted to use it as an example of my idea. Let me know what you think. Thanks again. --Kythryn 18:23, 29 May 2015 (CDT)
What I have been doing is heading all of the areas I update now with a specific housing subheading. That way I can just edit the subheading without touching anything else under a separate subheading. It has the added advantage allowing us to add a menu if you add a second subheading which makes the page easier to navigate. A good example (excepting the menu) is Rest of Ages Inn. What do you think of that solution?
Actuallty I just updated Whitehall Commons to the format I would propose.
That looks great! Perfect idea to move that menu up to the top so you can see at-a-glance if there is more documented to that particular housing area.
And in most cases, I think it'll just be picked items we see added to the page, but when I'm exploring and notice an atmospheric message that references something nearby (like how Whitehall mentions Stormwill Tower or a couple of the Hib. ones reference Akigwe Tower) then I've been adding them in. I think it's neat to see those cross-references, and obviously some GM went through the effort to make those connections, so why not document them. --Kythryn 08:31, 30 May 2015 (CDT)

new(ish) Ilithi housing area

Heya! I noticed on your recent updates you didn't catch the Almalne Alolan (housing) area. It's been around a bit now, but I just added it to the wiki in March when I came across it and noticed it didn't have a page. Head northish along the main road from Shard, past the SCC path and the 1st WEST you come to drops you right into it. --Kythryn 23:06, 12 June 2017 (CDT)

Thanks for the heads up. I did notice I missed it, but I will need to add it to my script for the next run through. Ithrios (talk) 23:22, 12 June 2017 (CDT)
I just updated the area and created a map, but I think I inverted the room numbering. Would you be ok if I fixed the pickables section to reflect that? Ithrios (talk) 15:56, 13 June 2017 (CDT)
Of course, I'll adapt to any new numbering system you use although I think the "pickables" should be complete at this point. Thanks for double checking though! --Kythryn 23:18, 13 June 2017 (CDT)

New Leth housing

I just happened to notice these as I was running by. You might already have them in with another page, but I didn't find them on a quick check of the various Leth housing. So, I did go ahead and make up a new page for them and figured I would send you a note just in case you'd been running right by them as well...heh. There are 2 rooms, 4 houses total, 2 & 3 rooms outside the Leth SW gate.

Thanks! --Kythryn 06:02, 13 May 2018 (CDT)

Thanks for the heads up. I will be sure to add them to my script for the next update. Ithrios (talk) 00:43, 14 May 2018 (CDT)

Gealeranendae College in Theren

So on the Gealeranendae College page, I just noticed that the old page name was spelled wrong (had been Gaeleranendae College), so I updated it and put a REDIRECT from the old page to the new one. Additionally, I put a bit of history & links at the top of the new page above the Housing section. Just wanted to give you a heads-up so it doesn't mess with your periodic housing area updates! If you ever get plucky and want to update it, looks like the .jpg graphic has the mis-spelled name as well, but it wasn't hurting anything so I didn't mess with it. Shh'o'kumu Terrace in Ratha

I was updating Ratha maps and noticed on the 4th Tier Shh'o'kumu Terrace that there is at least 1 room not being documented. West from room #9 has housing. I'll add it (and if there are any others) to the current page, but the map will need an update. Thanks! Kythryn 17:43, 19 October 2019 (CDT)

Empath housing in Hib

A quick note; the page name was changed to bring the Guildhall in-line with Manual of Style guidelines, and since the Empath housing is at the bottom of it, wanted to give you a heads up for updating. The new name is Empath Guildhall (Hibarnhvidar). Kythryn 19:16, 10 August 2020 (CDT)
