Can some more skilled wiki user turn the boots into a table, alphebetized and perhaps sectioned by Skill boost, Stat boots and other (ie food items)? With 105 different recipies its going to get ugly soon. Russell 20:17, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

I added in some tables. It's ugly, but it works for now. It will probably be best to split up the skill table into skillsets once it starts to get filled out more.--BlueRider 20:46, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

Can someone test that leather armor with different gems? Trying to get a feel for how exact some of the requirements are--Mozzik 20:49, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

The Leather Armor combo was one that was revealed to us in Plat during the event. Someone tried it at the event with a non-diopside with no success and then again with a diopside and it worked. I don't remember the gem type used then, but I could try to dig it out of a log if you like. I tried it myself with an old diopside with no success.--BlueRider 20:53, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

I just replicated the leather armor combo with a new pearl and 2 goblin skins - --Mozzik 21:06, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

It also seems order might matter... that or I'm really confused over what causes crushing. --Mozzik 21:30, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

Do we want to start tracking combos that do NOT work? I mean that's going to be an EPIC list but it might also speed up testing.--Mozzik 21:44, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

I am all for tracking things that dont work, so people are not replicating others efforts. But I dont think it should be on this page, it would make it way to messy for folks coming here who could care less about our testing, perhaps a subpage would work. How to organize it though would be tough consider the sheer number of possible combos. Russell 22:01, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
Heck - I'm loosing track of what I've tested that didn't work. Hmmph. Going to get some lunch - someone else want to start that page?--Mozzik 22:07, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

Okay... this is weird. I tried to replicate my perception formula from earlier (And still no idea why 2 mortars = perception). Tried it with stone ones from Crossing... nadda. 2 or 3 pestles did nothing. 2 or 3 mortars did nothing. The mortars I used last night were some black glass ones from the fest. Thinking the glass material might be the key. --Mozzik 21:48, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

Rank boost

I took a character with 44 Vocals and 10 Charisma and gave him the vocal boost. Before the boost I could hum a waltz with a "slightest hint of difficulty" but not a lullaby. After the boost I could hum a lullaby with a "slightest hint of difficulty" but not a march. According to the table on Talk:Vocals_skill, I gained a boost of somewhere between 5 and 12 ranks.--BlueRider 22:06, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

Sounds like it's got a soft cap (Not at all surprised). If someone else can find the PM formula I'll find out the exact boost size fairly quickly. Lot of practice doing all my prediction research measuring bonuses and whatnot :)--Mozzik 22:07, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

If its a percentage boost, its not suprising that the boost seemed small with only 44 base ranks in the skill. I am sure the boost is capped (or high rank folks would get insane boosts) but it would be disapointing if its only 10ish ranks, I am doubting it is though. Russell 22:28, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

I have been trying to figure out the mix for swimming, because for my character at least there is a few spots I could easily test then the size of the boost. What other skill can offer this? Mech lore would be a good one, with origami would be a terrific one to nail down the size of the boost. Weapon skills are a horrible test due to their nature, and armor skills are even worse, but that is most of what we have figured out so far. Russell 09:58, 5 November 2009 (UTC)

Every 5 ranks of Magical Devices reduces the roundtime for shifting a moonblade to another form by 1 second. Of course this is only helpful to Moon Mages that don't have high enough MD to reduce it to whatever the minimum roundtime is. I believe I figured that 300 ranks would reduce the roundtime to 0. --BlueRider 19:52, 5 November 2009 (UTC)

Another datapoint. With 76 ranks of MD, I got somewhere between a 4 and 9 rank boost. --BlueRider 20:56, 6 November 2009 (UTC)

Gained a rank and still get the same roundtime, so it's 4-8. --BlueRider 21:03, 6 November 2009 (UTC)

As someone who's done a LOT of boost testing with predictions... Mech Lore is good for testing boosts, PM is the best (Lets you narrow it to within 2 ranks). Furthermore it's clear this is sort capped - which is usually 30% (or less). Keep that in mind during your testing. However from some of the tests so far it sounds like it may be a ~10% soft cap - which would match with this being a fairly weak system (Honestly I'd be annoyed if it was anywhere near the potency of predictions) and would also fit with the stat boost being ~5 with ~15 being the usual cap.--Mozzik 07:21, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

Recipe Count

Where did the number 105 come from? -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 02:58, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

Solomon posted it on the forums Russell 13:47, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

MD

Where did we get that MD used 2 runestones?--Mozzik 21:26, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

Hashi claims that he got an MD boost from using two sraeth runestones... but was reluctant to part with more information. -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 21:29, 4 November 2009 (UTC)
Interesting... I ran through a lot of permutations with runes the other day (since it's the obvious item) and got squat. Guess I know what I'm doing after I finally win my cleric a gold in this gut toss.--Mozzik 21:33, 4 November 2009 (UTC)
So it seems the reason I didn't discover the MD formula is because I was using too large of camb peices (The armbands and anklets etc) from the game. Perhaps. Because I tried 2 runes + Camb. This needs more investigation.--Mozzik 22:51, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

I just did this with a bone ring, so it looks like it may work with a ring of any material. --BlueRider 20:51, 6 November 2009 (UTC)

Tabular Formatting

I've split the skills according to skillset and added in every skill and stat that is currently live in the game. Once we know for certain that a skill/stat cannot be boosted by the skeleton, we can remove them from the list. The tables look pretty ugly right now, but once they get some more combinations added we can format them properly. Finally, I moved the list of items the skeleton eats and rejects into a separate page. Cordath 22:49, 5 November 2009 (UTC)

The Heavy Crossbow boost was listed as 3x Light Edged weapons + 1x gem. I'm assuming that was a copy + paste error and removed it. --BlueRider 02:44, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
Edited, it now shows the correct formula for HX. --Leito 03:39, 5 March 2011 (UTC)

Guild Specific Skills

Has anyone tried the Astrology combo on a non-Moon Mage? I'm wondering if it's possible to get the correct combo for a guild specific skill, but get a failure if you're not in the correct guild. I'm assuming that the guild specific skills will require something very specific to the guild, like burins for Moon Mages, but you never know. --BlueRider 23:55, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

Ugly

Man this page is getting ugly. Maybe if work calms down for the rest of the day (or more I get a sudden inspiration to not be lazy AND work calms down) i'll redo it. If someone wants to get it before me however - be my guest. I was planning to break the tables into 5 columns for more consistent display.--Mozzik 20:12, 15 November 2009 (UTC)

Done --Leito 03:38, 5 March 2011 (UTC)
