At 176 utility ranks, 157 spirit pool and casting at 30 mana I have trouble converting spirit energy into any appreciable amount of mana, vitality or fatigue; even when converting 90% of my spirit. I do not recommend this spell to anyone with these ranks. MOTHRA (talk) 23:26, 3 August 2017 (CDT)

I believe the spell relies on two things:

First, your ability to hang onto the spell to consume the full 90%+ of your spirit. In the beginning I would see messages about letting go early or not converting all of my spirit. When I first started seeing full control was around 45 mana casts. As I've grown, that minimum number of mana needed for controllable results has gone down. I now get reliable/fully controlled casts at 10 mana (640 Utility, modified for alignment).

Second, remember the amount of energy available to the spell is dependent on your Spirit pool. More Charisma (I have 50 + 13) will help increase returns. - padhg (talk) 15:19, 4 August 2017 (CDT)
