Happy Tuesday, all!
This week, Koror wanted to give some attention to First Aid, and strike team saw low hanging fruit that was right up our alley! The new DISSECT verb will feel familiar to those of you acquainted with the Necromancers' dissection ritual. It made sense for everyone to be able to dissect a valid creature(*) and gain insights to first aid, and that's what the verb aims to provide. (*) Valid creatures are living or corporeal undead that are unskinned and untainted by Necro rituals. Incorporeal undead and constructs are not valid.
Usage: DISSECT............Will look for the most recent target you personally killed to dissect.
This opens up an in-the-field avenue to learn FA outside of tending wounds or anatomy charts. Because FA isn't normally a combat skill, what you can dissect may vary from what you hunt and require a little trial and error. Necromancer players may be able to give some advice! This ability is live everywhere! If you have questions or run into quirks, please let us know! Zadraes | |

The original intent was for DISSECT to generally be a mirror of the existing Necro ritual, but without the ritualistic messaging. Some deviation happened and understandably resulted in some confusion and grumbling. There are two more changes being made now to bring them better in line with one another:
- The undead will no longer be considered valid targets for DISSECT, to match the Necro ritual. The rotting remains of a zombie aren't going to teach you much (anything) about how the organs/etc worked when it was a living creature.
- The necro ritual now has the same RT reduction for successes based on FA skill that dissect has.
