Posting for Ulerith:
The sounds of frantic footfalls head towards you at high speed. A farmhand dressed in homespun bursts into the area, waving a pitchfork overhead and panting heavily. "You've GOT to come help! Mr. Baearholt sent me to town to try and find help! We're being overrun! It's AWFUL! The feathers! The scales! The sharp-toothed dancing female-things in the water! HELP!!!!" he exclaims and then scampers off, still waving his pitchfork and screaming at the top of his lungs.
So. This week's Tuesday Tidings is a big one. And we're never doing another one this big again. (It's basically monopolized my DR-work time for the last two weeks...and tied up other GMs getting it QC'd. Never again this big of a project on a TT schedule...) So... it's the finishing up of the revamp of Baearholts. Basically, everything has changed. First, the orchard now has smaller versions of the tree snakes and birdcatcher spiders from near the Rakash village. Like their bigger cousins, these are on a day/night cycle - the daytime features snakes, the nighttime features spiders. These are about level 12, with a range of 2 levels each side of that number. The brewery now has level 8 animated items like from Taisidon Safari in it. They have a range of one level above or below that level to spawn. They drop different treasure than on Safari, sorry! The big changes are in the fields/water area. The field is no longer one big field, but divided into three fields with paths between them so that the creatures will not wander between the fields. First there are now water sprites in the water area. But these aren't the water sprites you're used to... take some care approaching them. They are about level 20, with a range of 2 either direction. I also updated both these new type of water sprites as well as the older ones to drop better robes that are close to store quality. Next, some ... pigs have escaped and taken up residence in the center of the fields. These are bigger and nastier relatives of the razortusks on Ratha and they have a bit of a surprise if you linger in the area too long too.... They are level 35, with a range of 2 over or under that number. Those are the new things similar to what you've seen elsewhere. Now for the new stuff.... First, we have a new undead in the fields nearest the brewery. These aren't very big but they are ... different. And they have a special attack that fits their character very well. They are level 25 with a range of 2 under or over. Lastly, it appears that the Baearholt's really made someone mad and some rather large and nasty birds have taken up residence in the fields furthest from the brewery. They can't fly, but they kinda don't need to since they are bigger than most humans and can cast spells. These guys don't have a special attack, but Zadraes and I had a bit too much fun coming up with their "flavor" messaging ... they have "unique" vocalizations, let's just leave it at that. These guys are about level 30, with a range of 2 over or under that number. This mostly concludes the first big revamp of an older hunting area for P1. We'll be doing a LOT more, but anything that requires this much shuffling and changes will not come out with TT... it's just not a good schedule to work on for such an ambitious project. I'm impressed Zadraes didn't shoot me. (And if I misspell "Baearholt's" as "Baerholt's" one. more. time.... I will scream.) I hope you enjoy!

Baearholt's Farm (mostly Premium):
Epedia's map of the area is still fairly accurate, just a few directional exits were cleared and a path or track of some sort was put in to keep the creatures from overlapping with each other. PREMIUM 6 has been updated! Happy hunting folks! This was a big one! Zadraes | |
