Happy Tuesday, folks!

This week, we took a look at the Adan'f spirit dancer ice caves area, and we made a few tweaks.

One of the big concerns was closing the gap between the mages and warriors (~level 60) in the area with the dancers (~83). We made a few adjustments here:

  • The mages and warriors have taken lessons from the elders and were promoted to adept status. They now spawn at 79-81, bringing them more in line with the dancers. They have no new abilities or spells; the name adjustment should make it easier to identify if they happen to wander.
  • Mage and warrior spawn was drastically lowered -- at most, there should be 2 of each in the entire area, regardless of how many players are nearby. They're largely meant to contribute to the atmosphere with unique interactions with the dancers.

The dancers themselves were only slightly tweaked -- mostly behind-the-scenes stuff to clean up their older code. There are a few updates of note, however:

  • They had a special kick ability, but it looked like it was either disabled long ago or never actually turned on. It is now active and uses standard creature special attack mechs. It can be evaded, shield blocked, or armor can deflect it; it cannot be parried.
  • They had a chance to spawn a harder dancer once every 100 hours (!!) -- this has been adjusted. As each spawns, there's a (tiny) chance for it to spawn as an elite boss mob. The gear these spawns have isn't anything special stat wise, but they do have LOOKs that set them apart from the normal Adan'f gear -- this existed before, but I wanted to draw attention because I didn't see the gear sourced on epedia!
  • They previously spawned at ~83; they now spawn 81-85.

Hopefully this makes the area more appealing to those after the dancers! Let us know if you notice any quirks! Cheers to Paklin for the QC on the dancer updates and to Ulerith for peeking at the spawner updates!
