Hello everyone. Skinning 3.0 is now Live in Prime and Plat. Please note the following changes:

1). ARRANGE was completely rewritten. It will still function much like it did before, but use ARRANGE HELP for syntax. You can now ARRANGE for <part/skin> to specify which you want to go for when a critter offers up more than one thing. Skins are now a little harder to get versus parts, and over time we'll see more part types such as bone added. ARRANGE or ARRANGE ALL without specifying a part will go for a type at random if more than one exists.

2). Skinning experience was increased, and arranging experience was decreased. Arranging was, in some ways, a crutch to help Rangers train. Both by increasing the difficulty of the contest and by awarding double experience. It will still increase difficulty, and so will be useful there. But the actual skinning process is what will award the bulk of experience now. I also extended the lower-teaching limit a bit for when you outclass something.

3). ARRANGE ALL is now learned via the "Leather Tanning Expertise" technique in the Tailoring Discipline. This is keeping with the design philosophy of no Guild has a crafting or harvesting perk outside of the technique system. Rangers get bonus Tailoring techniques as compensation.

4). Hide scrapers, tanning lotion are now crafting tools and have a quality and potency that affect the process. Scrapes are currently forgeable, and eventually lotion will be crafted via Alchemy. Bodkins are currently unusable, but will soon auto-transform as a type of "awl" for punching holes in leather. New tools are sold at any crafting society, and old tools will autoconvert until we can refresh those shops.

Note - tanning lotion and potion are now the same thing to reduce complexity.

5). Scraping remained largely unchanged.

6). Tanning is elaborated on in Chapter 6 of the Tailoring instruction booklets by studying the leather tanning page. Basically you pour tanning lotion/potion on a cleaned skin to begin the multi-hour process. Pouring more sooner will decrease the time to tan at the cost of quality. Note that completing the process does give a small boost to the material's quality, so you'll have to play around and figure out your own limits.

7). We've released a few leatherworking items for folks to play with. The rest of the clothing and containers will be coming out next week, and armor and shields the week after that. Taking it slow to avoid overloading myself and encountering too many problems.

Please post any questions, comments or concerns in the Outfitting Lore folder!
