Description:

The Mark of Arhat spell is named for the founder of the first guild, Warrior Mages. Arhat was to fire magic as a mother is to child. One of his favorite spells was one of his own devising. He never named the spell and when it was found at the time of his death, the spell was named in Arhat's honor. Mark of Arhat is a form of targeted spell that does not deal damage upon impact, but afterwards as the mage harnesses mana for it.

Flickering embers drift from your fingertips, cascading to the ground where they land in a rough circle. Suddenly a pillar of white-hot flame bursts skyward from the embers! Stepping out of the column of flame, a majestic fiery lion shakes its burning mane, snarls, and springs toward a fendryad!
A dancing flame springs into existence between you and a fendryad, quickly growing into a raging inferno. A large golden lion steps proudly out of the fire, drawing the flames with it like a shroud. Baring brightly glowing fangs, the lion pounces on a fendryad!
With a burst of reddish light, a fiery swirl appears in the air beside you. A glowing lion that appears to be crafted from dancing crimson flames slinks out of the flaming portal and glances around the area, assessing the situation. With a roar reminiscent of a raging forest fire, the lion suddenly leaps at a fendryad!
A whirlwind of fire erupts around your body, sending tongues of reddish flame flashing in all directions. Pulling away from you, the raging inferno coalesces into the shape of a crouching fire-maned lion. The elemental beast gazes at a fendryad, then races forward toward it, leaping suddenly at the last moment to attack!
Streams of liquid fire drift from your hand to the ground, where they writhe and curl slowly. Spreading outward from you, the lines of fire coil themselves into complex designs that slowly take the shape of a single sigil of flame. Flashing brightly, the sigil draws itself upward and coalesces before you into the shape of a sun-bright humanoid figure. You glimpse wildly waving flame-like strands of hair and brightly glowing eyes as the figure raises a fire-covered hand and points at XXXXXX!
Crimson fire flashes from the figure's fingertips at XXXXXX, leaving a trail of jagged white-hot lines branded into her right eye!

Notes
- Holding too much mana can cause your spell to fail:
You sense the pattern of your Mark of Arhat spell grow too powerful for your ability to hold, causing it to dissolve and ending the spell.
- Marks can be maintained from a room away. Ability to hold mark is lessened, and mana harnessed doesn't damage.
- Multiple marks, on the same target or different targets, can be maintained at once. How many may depend on skill.
- In rare instances the lion appears as Arhat himself.
- To remove a mark, the command is RELEASE MARK. RELEASE MARK HELP for more options.
- Ignites Naphtha.
