Barbarian forgemasters discovered a unique application of crushed chakrel crystals in the tempering process. While the resultant metal retains none of the unique qualities of chakrel, it does take on a distinctive aesthetic of billowing embers swept across the surface of the iron that proved desirable in its own right.

Common description: Reddish-orange chakrel dust shows across the surface of the metal like a billowing cloud of windswept embers.
