Dissect command
The DISSECT command serves two purposes:
- For Necromancers, it it an alias for the Dissection ritual.
- For all other adventurers, DISSECT will teach First Aid skill when used on a corpse.
The DISSECT verb can be used on freshly killed corpses to gain insights into the creature's anatomy and physiology, which if an appropriate challenge, may reveal a greater understanding of First Aid. A successful dissection prevents further attempts to dissect or SKIN the creature. Other characters will see you attempt the dissection.
Successful dissection roundtime does reduce with skill. It begins at 10 seconds, is reduced by 1 second every 75 ranks of First Aid, and cannot drop below 3 seconds. Failure brings a steep RT, but you can make the attempt again until/unless the creature decays.
At 41 ranks of First Aid, skinning a cougar gives 5 mindstates.
Requirements
- Like skinning, DISSECT requires a held or worn knife or holding a small edged weapon. If you have a worn knife, it will be prioritized.
- DISSECT is automatically unlocked at Circle 10.
- Success seems determined by First Aid ranks (rather than Combat). At Circle 10 with 3 ranks of First Aid, Goblins were impossible to dissect, however Rats were 100% successful and mind-locked First Aid within minutes.
