Lobby

[The Tepid Faldesu, Lobby]
A single cracked lantern hangs overhead, spewing more smoke than light. The pungent fumes smell strongly of fish oil. Dimly visible benches crafted from shipping crates line the foyer's walls, soot gathering upon their sailcloth-covered cushions as it filters down from the lamp above. An errant breeze filters in from the river, carrying with it the sounds of lapping water.
You also see some sagging double doors leading out to the boardwalk.
Obvious exits: east, south.

Dining Room

[The Tepid Faldesu, Dining Room]
Several paintings of fishing boats hang on the unfinished wooden panels that partially enclose this cramped dining room. A long counter serves to separate the eating area from the exposed kitchen, but does little to hide the view of the grimy cooking conditions. Mismatched chairs surround makeshift tables, most of them badly stained with greasy food and cheap wine.
You also see a massive driftwood squid hanging above the bar.
Obvious exits: north, east.

Bar Room

[The Tepid Faldesu, Bar Room]
Partially separated from the cramped dining area to the west by a series of unfinished wooden panels, the bar room feels quite open due to its sparse furnishings. Steel-legged stools line the heavily-stained bar, bolted firmly to the floor to prevent damage during drunken brawls. A bulky stack of liquor crates and beer kegs serves to further delineate the space.
You also see a grimy bartender and a shadowy corner.
Obvious exits: west.

Shadowy Corner

[The Tepid Faldesu, Shadowy Corner]
Nearly blocked off from all sides, this quiet little corner appears to be utilized mostly as a storage area. The briny smell that permeates the entire establishment is particularly strong here, no doubt due to the open barrels of fish shoved between the other boxes. A faint skittering can be heard from time to time as the vermin that gorge themselves on the poorly stored goods scurry to and fro in the darkness.
You also see an opening between some liquor boxes leading to the bar.
Obvious exits: none.

Narrow Hallway

[The Tepid Faldesu, Narrow Hallway]
Barely wide enough for a single full grown Gor'Tog to squeeze through sideways, the hallway is dimly lit with greasy lanterns hanging from the ceiling. Rusty stains streak the walls, visible through the salt-crusted fishing nets tacked over them. A soggy green carpet lies on the floor, hastily thrown over its plain wooden boards and only half-hiding an old stain.
You also see a dingy blue-framed doorway.
Obvious exits: east, west.

Gambler's Den

[The Tepid Faldesu, Gambler's Den]
Several dartboards dot this room's mottled blue walls. Subdued desperation oozes from the players at the various card tables, punctuated by occasional cries of anger or greedy joy as the tides of fortune turn. In one corner, a group of craggy-looking riverfolk have huddled together tightly, attending to a game of dice on an overturned crate.
You also see a dingy blue-framed doorway.
Obvious exits: none.

  • There is an active dartboard game in this room.

Narrow Hallway

[The Tepid Faldesu, Narrow Hallway]
Muddy bootprints mar the bare wooden floor in this portion of the windowless hallway, and the thick scent of tobacco wafts in from the smoking room to the north. A large, soiled tapestry hangs from the ceiling to cover the southern wall, the speckled mold peeking out from its edges hinting at the most likely reason for its placement.
You also see a murky green-framed doorway and a spiral driftwood staircase.
Obvious exits: west.

Smoking Den

[The Tepid Faldesu, Smoking Den]
Set off from the adjacent gambling parlor by shabby tobacco-stained screens and algae-green paint, this lounge is furnished entirely with salvaged materials. A splotchy yellowed sofa flanked by fish barrels dominates one wall, while along another, several low stools surround a footlocker coffee table.
You also see a greenish curtain, a dingy blue curtain and a murky green-framed doorway.
Obvious exits: none.

Private Booth (green curtain)

[The Tepid Faldesu, Private Booth]
A naturally algae-green table sits in the middle of this booth, matching its benches. Dangling dangerously low, a rusted anchor chain suspends a fish-shaped lantern, its flickering light casting curious, shifting shadows across furnishings and occupants alike. The slight smell of mold lingers in the air, mixed with the smoke coming from beyond a greenish curtain.
Obvious exits: out.

Private Booth (blue curtain)

[The Tepid Faldesu, Private Booth]
A blue-grey wooden table sits in the middle of this booth, contrasted by its nearly black benches. Situated high on the wall, a series of rusty sconces holds tallow candles that have been burned to near nubs, their dim light effecting a more ominous than cozy atmosphere. The heavy scent of smoke wafts in from beyond the dingy blue curtain.
Obvious exits: out.

Upstairs Hallway

[The Tepid Faldesu, Upstairs Hallway]
More of a half-attic than a hallway, dim light streams in from cracks in the ceiling. Sailcloth tarps spread over the holes do their best to keep out inclement weather, though bad water stains attest to the tavern's overall neglect. A few planks have been haphazardly laid over a hole in the floor, a short-term solution that has become permanent.
You also see a rough driftwood door and a spiral driftwood staircase.
Obvious exits: west.

Dimly Lit Room

[The Tepid Faldesu, Dimly Lit Room]
The roof of this small room slopes down to the northern wall, and is relatively well-shingled in comparison to the hallway outside. A small painting hangs on the eastern wall, depicting an enormous sea creature strangling a wooden ship. The room's only real furnishing is a fairly good-sized bed stuffed with hay and a small chamberpot in the corner.
You also see a rough driftwood door.
Obvious exits: none.

Upstairs Hallway

[The Tepid Faldesu, Upstairs Hallway]
Stacks of small boxes are piled up in the corners, nearly filling the end off the short hallway. A small porthole window looks out on the river, but view into the city is blocked by the side of a salt-stained warehouse. Spiders spin their webs in the bare rafters, feasting on the flies that buzz up from the dining room below.
You also see a rough driftwood door.
Obvious exits: east.

Dimly Lit Room

[The Tepid Faldesu, Dimly Lit Room]
The roof of this small room slopes down to the northern wall, and is relatively well-shingled in comparison to the hallway outside. Small motes of dust drift through the air, lit up by greasy oil lanterns hanging on the walls. The room's only real furnishing is a fairly good-sized bed stuffed with hay and a small chamberpot in the corner.
You also see a rough driftwood door.
Obvious exits: none.
