Sounds like it's got a soft cap (Not at all surprised). If someone else can find the PM formula I'll find out the exact boost size fairly quickly. Lot of practice doing all my prediction research measuring bonuses and whatnot :)--[[User:Mozzik|Mozzik]] 22:07, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

:If its a percentage boost, its not suprising that the boost seemed small with only 44 base ranks in the skill. I am sure the boost is capped (or high rank folks would get insane boosts) but it would be disapointing if its only 10ish ranks, I am doubting it is though. Can some more skilled wiki user turn the boots into a table, alphebetized and perhaps sectioned by Skill boost, Stat boots and other (ie food items)? With 105 different recipies its going to get ugly soon. Russell 20:17, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

I added in some tables. It's ugly, but it works for now. It will probably be best to split up the skill table into skillsets once it starts to get filled out more.--BlueRider 20:46, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

Can someone test that leather armor with different gems? Trying to get a feel for how exact some of the requirements are--Mozzik 20:49, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

The Leather Armor combo was one that was revealed to us in Plat during the event. Someone tried it at the event with a non-diopside with no success and then again with a diopside and it worked. I don't remember the gem type used then, but I could try to dig it out of a log if you like. I tried it myself with an old diopside with no success.--BlueRider 20:53, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

I just replicated the leather armor combo with a new pearl and 2 goblin skins - --Mozzik 21:06, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

It also seems order might matter... that or I'm really confused over what causes crushing. --Mozzik 21:30, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

Do we want to start tracking combos that do NOT work? I mean that's going to be an EPIC list but it might also speed up testing.--Mozzik 21:44, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

I am all for tracking things that dont work, so people are not replicating others efforts. But I dont think it should be on this page, it would make it way to messy for folks coming here who could care less about our testing, perhaps a subpage would work. How to organize it though would be tough consider the sheer number of possible combos. Russell 22:01, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
Heck - I'm loosing track of what I've tested that didn't work. Hmmph. Going to get some lunch - someone else want to start that page?--Mozzik 22:07, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

Okay... this is weird. I tried to replicate my perception formula from earlier (And still no idea why 2 mortars = perception). Tried it with stone ones from Crossing... nadda. 2 or 3 pestles did nothing. 2 or 3 mortars did nothing. The mortars I used last night were some black glass ones from the fest. Thinking the glass material might be the key. --Mozzik 21:48, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

Rank boost

I took a character with 44 Vocals and 10 Charisma and gave him the vocal boost. Before the boost I could hum a waltz with a "slightest hint of difficulty" but not a lullaby. After the boost I could hum a lullaby with a "slightest hint of difficulty" but not a march. According to the table on Talk:Vocals_skill, I gained a boost of somewhere between 5 and 12 ranks.--BlueRider 22:06, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
