The Shake command is used to shake a variety of different things and people.

Use

It is often the final command in creation of Alchemic mixtures, as it is used to mix the ingredients in a closed container. Shaking an open container with liquid in it is not advised.

In addition, this is a common command to activate verbed items.

Barbarian Hand Shake

If a Barbarian shakes the hand of another Barbarian, instead they do a warrior's clasp. There are three separate messages, one standard, one for more strength, and the third for when the initiator has greater strength by 20 or more points.

A thief can mimic this if they are shaken by another, but they cannot initiate it.

Standard

Clamping a fist around <person>'s forearm, you pull him heartily toward you in a bone-crushing Barbarian greeting.
??

Greater Strength

Clamping a fist around <weaker person>'s forearm, you pull him heartily toward you in a bone-crushing Barbarian greeting.
<stronger person> clamps his fist around your forearm and hauls you over for a merciless Barbarian greeting. Mustering all your grit, you attempt to give him some satisfactory bruises in return.

You grasp <stronger person>'s forearm and embrace him sturdily, hoping to convey a sense of kinship between two proud warriors.
<weaker person> grasps your forearm with a sturdy grip and holds your gaze for a moment. In kinship, you return the greeting, taking care not to break his arm.
