Thanatology and Skinning Experience Changes · on 02/09/2013 04:50 PM CST 366
In concert with critters lasting longer and there thus being less of them along with DR3.0, Thanatology and Skinning have had updates made to them.

SKINNING

1. In general, most of you should be training the skill better than before depending on what you hunt.

2. The critter in question matters.

Your training is comparative to the creature in question. The tougher the critter, the better, as compared to your skill, similar to how combat and magic experience gain works.

THANATOLOGY ET AL

1. In general, most of you should be training the skill better than before depending on what you hunt.

2. The critter in question matters.

Your training is comparative to the creature in question. The tougher the critter, the better, as compared to your skill, similar to how combat and magic experience gain works.

3. All rituals teach the same and all teach secondary First Aid and Skinning.

We didn't feel that an adventurer should be choosing to do a particular ritual ONLY because it trains diferently but rather because of the product of the ritual or the role of the adventurer.

Therefore, all rituals teach the same now, and all rituals teach secondary first aid and skinning (meaning quite a bit less than the Thanatology experience gain).

Keep in mind that both these secondary skills will also contest against the creature in question as per #2 above, so depending on the skill level of these three skills, you may learn 0, 1, 2, or all 3 of these depending on what you hunt and what your skills are.
