Sometimes. The mechanics of this are in PAFO territory for the sake of budding Necromancers and sadistic amusement.

For what it's worth, getting nailed by Harm Evil is going to require less Outrage than triggering Cursed/Undead bonuses on conventional spells for exactly this reason -- you get more oomph out of their Outrage if you don't hedge your bet.
