The Great Tower, Hall of Audiences]

Although exposed on all but one side to the rows of white benches reserved for observers, this dais, spread as it is with an array of large square pillows for the comfort of both Ferdahl and guests, manages to retain a feeling of intimacy. The doors leading back to the hallway are set in a curving, mirrored wall, and the floor beneath the pillows is covered by a finely woven indigo silk rug. Also here: Sentinel Kureta and Sentinel Captain Cierzen. Obvious exits: none. Aemmin takes a serene look on her face, gazing off toward the distance as if remembering something long forgotten. With a calm look, she finishes her reverie and steps forward on the dais. Aemmin says, "My people." Aemmin smiles. Aemmin says, "It has been long since last I stood before you. We have been blessed with a time of peace, a time to recover from and mourn our losses from fighting against the forces of darkness and undeath." Aemmin says, "Our lands have borne the brunt of a heavy blow, but the people of Shard are strong. The Tower is proud of each and every one of you. The blessing of the gods still rests upon us, as does their duty." Aemmin says, "I ask you, my people, to remember. Remember that with the support of each other, a nation easily stands strong and can defeat all." Aemmin says, "My people, remember who our enemies are. Be vigilant, and be keen in determining friend from foe. Though we are at peace, we still have those who would try to fell us. We will not be felled." Aemmin says, "We have grieved for our losses, and now is the time to move forward." Aemmin says, "Now, we have some news to share with everyone. Three new members of the Court have been chosen." Aemmin says, "Synamon, please come to the dais." Cierzen gives Aemmin a slight nod. Sentinel Captain Cierzen went through a pair of carved ash doors. Synamon curtsies to Aemmin. Aemmin smiles at Synamon. Synamon grins at Kureta. Aemmin says, "Greetings, Synamon." Synamon says, "Your grace." Aemmin nods to Synamon. Aemmin says, "You shall be given the duty of Ambassador. Serve your country well." Synamon beams at Aemmin! Aemmin places her right hand over her General's badge and it flares with a bright blue light. Removing her hand, the blue light still clinging to it, she places her palm upon Synamon's shoulder. Instantly, she is surrounded by a bright flare of light that quickly fades, revealing a new Ambassador's insignia on Synamon's chest. Synamon says, "I wil do my best, thank you, your Grace." Synamon curtsies to Aemmin. Aemmin says, "It gladdens my heart to hear you say that." Aemmin says, "You shall be briefed on your duties by the Advisor." Aemmin smiles at Synamon. Synamon says, "It is an honor to serve the tower, and my home." Synamon nods to Aemmin. Synamon bows to Aemmin. Sentinel Captain Cierzen's group went through a pair of carved ash doors. Aemmin says, "Arourra, please step forward." With a graceful flutter of her hands, Arourra sinks down in a formal curtsy. Aemmin says, "Greetings, Arourra." Aemmin smiles at Arourra. Arourra says, "Your Grace." Arourra smiles at Aemmin. Aemmin says, "You shall be given the duty of Court Cleric. Serve your country well." Aemmin places her right hand over her General's badge and it flares with a bright blue light. Removing her hand, the blue light still clinging to it, she places her palm upon Arourra's shoulder. Instantly, she is surrounded by a bright flare of light that quickly fades, revealing a new Court insignia on Arourra's chest. Arourra says, "I am humbled and honored by this, Your Grace. Thank you." Aemmin says, "Your duties will be explained by the Court Advisor, later." Aemmin smiles at Arourra. Arourra says, "May the Gods eternally bless Your Grace and the Three." Arourra smiles at Aemmin. With a graceful movement of her hands, Arourra lowers her head and sinks into a formal curtsy before Aemmin. Aemmin says, "Honor your country well, and show us the will of the Immortals." Aemmin smiles at Arourra. Sentinel Captain Cierzen's group went through a pair of carved ash doors. Aemmin says, "Traim, please step forward." Traim smiles. Traim bows to Aemmin. Traim says, "Your Grace." Aemmin says, "Greetings, Traim." Aemmin smiles at Traim. Traim smiles. Aemmin says, "You shall be given the duty of our second Commander. Serve your country well." Aemmin places her right hand over her General's badge and it flares with a bright blue light. Removing her hand, the blue light still clinging to it, she places her palm upon Traim's shoulder. Instantly, he is surrounded by a bright flare of light that quickly fades, revealing a new Commander's badge on Traim's chest. Traim blinks. Traim slowly says, "I...thank you Your Grace. I will do my best." Aemmin smiles at Traim. Aemmin says, "I know that you will." Aemmin says, "Our Court Advisor will explain your duties to you." Traim slowly says, "Yes..thank you." Traim rubs his head. Traim smiles. Traim says, "Your Grace." Aemmin says, "I know that you are up for the task." Aemmin smiles at Traim. Traim says, "I will serve as best I can." Aemmin says, "Thank you." Aemmin nods to Traim. Traim bows to Aemmin. Sentinel Captain Cierzen's group went through a pair of carved ash doors. Thariis smiles pleasantly. Aemmin says, "Ah, Thariis. Greetings." Aemmin nods to Thariis. Thariis says, "Oh, hello." Thariis pushes his lenses up the bridge of his nose. Thariis leans on his cane. Aemmin says, "Now that you are here, we can proceed." Aemmin smiles a little wryly. Thariis says, "Well, that's nice." Thariis smiles pleasantly. Aemmin says, "For those who are tasked with serving upon the court, I ask that you remember that this is a call to service, to Shard and its people. Be true to your duties and serve our nation well." Aemmin says, "There are a few minor matters that need to be addressed now." Aemmin says, "We are aware that the Adan'f have been stirring again recently. Sentinel Captain Cierzen will be looking into the matter, and may be tasking the militia in this matter." Cierzen nods. Aemmin says, "Sentinel Kureta has asked me to remind everyone that while she does not hold it against anyone, it is still illegal to spar in the city streets." Aemmin says, "Finally, strange creatures are pouring onto the Southern Trade Route, after an avalanche in the Dragon Spine mountains. I would urge everyone exploring in that area to use extreme caution." Aemmin says, "We live in times of both magic and peril. However, Shard is strong, and will always stand as a bastion of shining light against the darkness." Thariis furrows his brow. Aemmin says, "I will now take petitioners. If you wish to speak for any reason, or ask questions, please give your name to Thariis." Aemmin says, "Thariis, please head back out and take names." Aemmin smiles at Thariis. Thariis asks, "Hmm?" Thariis says, "Oh, yes." Thariis smiles pleasantly. Aemmin says, "Petitioners." Aemmin gives Thariis a slight nod. Tribune Thariis went through a pair of carved ash doors. Aemmin asks, "Who is it that you have found?" Thariis says, "Oh, hmm." Uthgaar says, "I am Uthgaar MacUlrik Your Grace." Thariis asks Uthgaar, "What was your name again?" Uthgaar smiles at Thariis. Thariis says, "Yes, that's it. Uthgaar." Thariis nods in agreement. Uthgaar says, "Your Grace, on behalf of the Holy Inquisition, I come before you this night to request your permission to publish a list of profane Necromancers and their abhorrent compatriots upon the walls of the Crystal City." Uthgaar frowns slightly as he glances at a vellum scroll in his left hand. Aemmin says, "I would ask that you speak to Cierzen about the matter." Uthgaar gives a courteous nod and tips his helm politely. Uthgaar says, "I shall do so then Your Grace." Uthgaar bows to Aemmin. Thariis smiles pleasantly. Uthgaar nods politely to Cierzen. Aemmin says, "While we applaud the pursuit of necromancers, we do not want to open the doors for another Vorasus." Aemmin says, "That is all I ask." Aemmin smiles at Uthgaar. Aemmin nods to Cierzen. Cierzen says, "Of course, your Grace." Uthgaar nods in agreement. Thariis pats Uthgaar on the back. Tribune Thariis's group went through a pair of carved ash doors. Thariis says, "I've found a nice young human named Erieck something-or-other. He's an Ambassador." Thariis smiles pleasantly. Aemmin gives Thariis a slight nod. Erieck bows to Aemmin. Aemmin says, "Greetings, Erieck." Erieck says, "Greetings your grace." Erieck says, "During the height of the conflict with Lyras I appeared before you as Theren's Ambassador." Aemmin gives Erieck a slight nod. Aemmin says, "Indeed you did." Erieck says, "At that time, your grace chose not to recieve an Ambassador from Therengia." Erieck says, "I appear before you today in the hopes that..in this time of peace." Erieck says, "And with the naming of a new Ambassador from Shard.." Erieck says, "That your grace would reconsider reception of an Ambassador from Therengia." Erieck bows to Aemmin. Aemmin says, "The situtation in Theren remains unchanged." Thariis smiles pleasantly. Erieck nods. Aemmin says, "Speak with our new Ambassador, if you will, but there will not be any negotiation between us as long as it remains so." Aemmin says, "You must understand our position. I hold no ill will toward you personally." Aemmin smiles at Erieck. Erieck says, "Then I shall my lady Ferdahl..with hopes for the future.." Erieck says, "I understand completely." Erieck says, "But I certainly must continue to try." Thariis casually observes the area. Erieck smiles. Aemmin gives Erieck a slight nod. Erieck says, "Thank you." Erieck bows to Aemmin. Thariis leans on his cane. Tribune Thariis's group went through a pair of carved ash doors.

> You see Prime Intercessor Valthyrz, a S'Kra Mur. Valthyrz has slitted gold eyes, silver scales, a slender tail and an athletic build. He appears to be young. He is in good shape.

He is wearing a black dragon emblem with dark red eyes, some grey leather armor with a diagonally-patterned black and white tabard, some metal bracers and a black leather sheath.

I see." Valthyrz says, "As I am told you are aware, there has been a recent change in leadership." Aemmin says, "Indeed, I was aware of this." Aemmin says, "Hhrsaraa is no more. "Aemmin gives Valthyrz a slight nod. Aemmin looks almost tense, but keeps a calm and serene expression. Valthyrz says, "Our new leader believes that there have been many excesses in the Empire which he seeks to correct. Among these are the needless hostilities often displayed to many in the provinces." Aemmin says, "Who is this new leader? I mean no insult, but I was under the impression that your forces were a bit scattered at the moment." One of the reflective stars orbiting Nezyra's head suddenly halts, causing those behind it to slam into it! The impact jumpstarts the first back into motion. Cierzen twitches a bit, looking rather tense. Holding one strap, Traim tosses the harness over his shoulder, catches the other strap with his free hand, pulls it tight, and buckles it. Valthyrz says, "His Holiness has asked me to come forth to discuss the possibility of a truce of sorts with Ilithi, or at the least the City of Shard. I am not seeking an answer now, simply requesting a session in the future to discuss it." Thariis casually observes the area. Aemmin looks almost tense, but keeps a calm and serene expression. Again, I mean no insult, but I have no reason to trust this new leader of yours." Aemmin appears to be deep in thought. Valthyrz asks, "Coming to the city directly would be inconvenient. Might I suggest an open area at neutral ground? I believe there are methods which can be utilized to ensure the safety of Your Grace's person?" Thariis frowns. Aemmin says, "Hmm. Would Ain Ghazal be more appropriate, then? It has been used as a neutral standing point in the past." Aemmin says, "There is no lack of safety there, for either party." Cierzen whispers furiously to Kureta. Thariis peers at Valthyrz over the rim of his lenses. Kureta looks at Cierzen and just shakes her head. Valthyrz says, "Would you not prefer to meet somewhere more nearby your own city? I apologize, but I was instructed to find an open-air place and I lack the authority to change His Holiness's directives." Aemmin says, "An open-air place. Interesting." Aemmin says, "If he is coming to this city, we will speak with him as long as he comes alone or with only a small escort. I would ask that you speak with our new ambassador to find an appropriate place for this to occur." Valthyrz nods. Cierzen suddenly looks very tense and whispers to Kureta again. Kureta shakes her head at Cierzen. Valthyrz says, "That will be acceptable, Your Grace. Thank you." Aemmin gives Valthyrz a slight nod. Thariis smiles slightly. Thariis shifts his weight. Valthyrz nods politely to Aemmin. Tribune Thariis's group went through a pair of carved ash doors. Thariis says, "It looks as if they're all talked out." Thariis smiles pleasantly. Aemmin gives Thariis a slight nod.

slight nod.

Aemmin says, "That is all for now, then. I would again ask that you remain strong, my people, and remember our ways. Good day." Cierzen joins Aemmin's group. Kureta joins Aemmin's group. Thariis joins Aemmin's group. Thariis leans on his cane. Ferdahl Aemmin's group went through a pair of carved ash doors.
