A shovel is a crafting tool used both in the various metalworking techniques (Blacksmithing, Weaponsmithing, and Armorsmithing), as well as the mining process that fuels them.

See Crafting Tools for details.

Usage

  • In forging, it is used to move coal into the fires that are used to work metal. This is done by PUSHing the fuel with the shovel.

Creation and Repair

Shovels can be created using forging techniques that fall under the Blacksmithing discipline.

Likewise, their repair falls under the same skills, with standard processes for metal tool repair.

Templates

Shovels are assumed to use material hardness to derive their effectiveness.
(Low carbon steel was used for the durability cap, and high carbon steel was used for speed cap.)

<metal> wide shovel 9 - intricate 8 x density ? ? 1 - extremely weak 9 - exceptionally effective

Cap indicates the best possible score that can be reached using normal metals. It should be noted that it is not possible to reach both caps in the same item.
