Description: | Failure of the Forge is an unusual warding pattern which allows the magician to cloak themself in an aura of aural dissonance. If an attack lands against the spellcaster, the dissonance lashes out, imbuing any weapon in the attacker's hands with distracting harmonics. In effect, this makes the weapons temporarily less suited for combat, though the discerning magician should beware that this magical counter-attack does nothing to cushion them against the initial blow.
Effect: | Token amount of damage reduction. Debuffs weapons held by aggressors.
Example Messaging: | Unknown
Devices/Tattoos: | No devices or tattoos documented. |
Notes
- Any weapon held by the aggressor (whether or not it was actually used in the assault) will be debuffed for a short time, similar in concept to the Cleric spell Curse of Zachriedek.
- The debuff does not work on natural attacks from critters or brawling attacks from players.
- The debuff does not affect the attack that triggers the effect.
- The effect cannot be triggered again until it has worn off completely.
- Provides a token amount of always on damage reduction to the caster independent of the debuff effect.
