A type of jade, jadeite is a mineral that is hard, very touch, and dense. It is found in a wide range of colors, but is most often found in shades of green or white. It is the principal mineral making up the most valuable form of jade.
Though variable in color, it is typically apple-green to emerald-green, or less commonly white or white with spots of green. It can also be blue-green, pink, lavender, dark green to black with its color largely affected by trace elements such as iron. Its translucence varies from opaque to almost clear.
In Elanthia, jadeite is described as a small opaque stone of an emerald-green shade and a dull lustre. It is used for gwethdesuans because of its inherent magical properties.
When properly prepared, jadeite is used to make jadeite gwethdesuans.
