A type of mineral, jade can refer to either of two different silicate minerals, nephrite or jadeite.
- Nephrite can be found in a creamy white form as well as in a variety of light green colors. The higher the iron content in nephrite, the greener the color.
- Jadeite is considered the more precious kind of jade and only occurs in metamorphic rocks. It can be found in color variations of blue, brown, red, black, dark green, lavender, and white.
Jade is the birthstone for those born in the month of Uthmor the giant. Traditionally believed to encourage growth and good winds, the gem is favored by artists of all clans, not just those of the River Elves.
