Happy Tuesday, folks!

This week is a pair of small quality-of-life updates. No big fanfare, but they should help out in some situations!

1) There's a new TIME DATE tool to let you see when a given real world date falls on the IC calendar:

>time date 20210713
>2021/7/13 falls from the 30th day of the the 8th month of Skullcleaver the Dwarven Axe (Day 310) in the year of the Iron Toad (438) to the 34th day of the the 8th month of Skullcleaver the Dwarven Axe (Day 314) in the year of the Iron Toad (438).

Those of you eager to find out when Asketi's next ride is or other IC holidays should have an easier time finding this out in game now!

2) The "dying" state has been given a new 'win' scenario on top of the old one. To explain this, you need the background of the old/current one, and it's kinda tricky!

We've received several bug reports over the years that someone died even when they had full health and 0 wounds because an Empath healed them while they were in the dying state. These aren't actually bugs! When you enter the dying state, you're loaned a portion of your vitality to keep you living for a bit. To win the dying state, you have to recover double that loaned amount of vitality. Because your vitality can be super negative depending on the killing blow that put you into the dying state, it's possible the debt needed to be repaid is greater than your max health. The "shock" of the near death dying experience is what kills you in these cases. It's not a bug, it all maths out and does exactly what it's supposed to, but we know it feels super bad (and seems like a bug even though it isn't!) to have an Empath take the time to heal you up and save you, only for the system to just smite you down anyways. So!

When this shock-of-dying check takes place at the end of the dying period, the newly added/prioritized scenario is this: If you have no actively bleeding wounds (they must be fully tended!) and you have at least 10% of your max vitality, you'll survive the death check. If either of those conditions aren't valid, you fall through to the old check looking to see if you recovered enough vitality (unlikely if you don't even have 10%!).

Big thanks to Paklin for grabbing a last minute QC on both of these! Go forth and enjoy your holiday planning and enjoy the added security your friendly Empaths' healing touch brings to those close-call situations! I'll be back with <redacted> next week!
