Talk:Elanthian Timeline
I see some additions have been made to this page. The timeline was released by a GM (Atrathen?) a few years back and it has been preserved as-is. Of course, events continue to happen, but I don't think that means we should modify this timeline. Perhaps we could create a new, player-generated timeline of events? I think that would address the two things going on here: a desire for timelines to capture new events and the desire to preserve information in the form that it was released. Thoughts? --Basselope 22:33, 2 December 2007 (CST)
- Although I don't think it's necessary, if it's going to be preserved, the primary page should display the updated timeline. Also, it should probably be renamed to "Kermorian Timeline" as it is evidently separate from the Albarian one.--Aetherie 08:55, 3 December 2007 (CST)
Sorry for making edits/additions without saying hello first. Another contributor suggested it was alright to to just jump right in, so I did.
Archiving the timeline (my two additions removed) as is for historical purposes makes sense, but I agree that an updated timeline being the first visible on the page would be best.
Something I've daydreamed about for a long long time is some sort of fairly easily referenced historical record of things going on in game. What I'd like to do is take a stab at updating the timeline to bring it up to present day Elanthia, eventually with a format where major events are shown in the main timeline, and each year is linked on the main timeline to a smaller timeline of just that year that shows 'minor' GM-run events and major player-run events (i.e. '387-3-23 Riverhaven was raided by Goblins' '387-6-12 Razor's Edge II won by Team X (Character1, Character2, Character3, etc.'). So in the above format, my two timeline additions would be shortened to one shorter main timeline note, with more notes to individual events (raid happens on this day, Kalag the Black dies on this day, etc.) on the year 388 timeline page.
Would that work for this wiki? --Cemm 09:51, 3 December 2007 (CST)
