| Look: | The bulk of the telescope is constructed from a single piece of smooth amboyna burlwood carved into a long, straight tube. Diamond-hard and polished to a high shine, the grain of the wood is a rich variegated reddish-brown with whorled burls covering the surface, lending it a fiery appearance. The handspan-long eyepiece is collapsible and ringed with etchings of highly abstracted geometric patterns. A narrow band of matching gold encircles the lens, engraved a line of fine scrollwork. There appears to be something written on it. |
