The purple token is commonly used to modify the appearance of a Moon Mage's shadow servant. Not being such a mage, you're fairly certain you couldn't activate such a device.

Were the purple token to be activated, the following modifications to a servant would be made:

 Base Description: "a distorted Shadow Servant"
 Long Description: "a distorted Shadow Servant blindfolded by a purple haze"
 LOOK Description: "The creature's shadowy torso is bent and its limbs are contorted, giving it a rather tortured appearance.  Swirling like dense smoke, a wide halo of purple haze orbits its head where the eyes might be."

These are compatible with the scroll system for alterations. You must use this item as the base when you GET your scroll if you wish to have it altered. >
