Azaylea Valhalla was born on the 26th day of the 6th month of Arhat the Fire Lion in the year of the Crystal Snow Hare, 374 years after the victory of Lanival the Redeemer. She grew up north of Leth Deriel, on the southern shore of the Segoltha River. She had one older brother, Menrion, who was lost at sea in the year 389 on a trip to Hara'jaal. After a disagreement with her parents she moved to the Crossing in the year 390 to live with her sister-in-law, Witchbaby, in anticipation of her brother's return. The two spent many days watching the river from the apartment window, but her lost brother never returned. She also has kin from the Velaka Desert, and two cousins; Lycette and Vivalynn.
