>>1. With regard to the Children of Kalestraum - what is their "official" status, relative to the MM Guild? Are they, or have they ever been, part of it? Or have they always been a splinter group at odds with the Guild (since they were driven underground before the Guild's formation)? I see them described somewhat indifferently as "moon mages", "rogue moon mages", and "lunar mages", which to me mean three very different things.
The sect was never part of the Moon Mage Guild. Individual members are self taught lunar mages, raised within the sect or, in some cases, members of the Moon Mage Guild who've gone rogue. This is not a distinction Joe Farmer is likely to understand or care about. >>3. Specific sect-related question, in case Armifer doesn't want to do a treatment of the Progeny: What is the modern reputation of the Progeny of Tezirah? Not as bad as you might think. They've certainly been involved in a lot of shady stuff but, as a whole, they're very good at politics and spin. Many NPC members of the Progeny tamper with sorcery and other things best left forgotten, and everyone knows they do, but no one can prove anything and they only do it behind closed doors. This is not something many player members are good at. Politically the sect's power within the guild is surpassed only by the Compact. >>No where near as deep or lore driven as other peoples' questions but what's the deal with the moonstone gweths the guild leaders wear? Do they let the guild leaders listen in on both channels or grant access to a guild leader only channel? Can we enchant them "soon"? They're a McGuffin (ie: It's something GMs in the past decided to do to either look cool or avoid the need of wearing a J and K gweth on all the GMNPCs, possibly both reasons, but doesn't actually have any mechanical or lore justification at this time. See: Spotted Moon Gates.) | |
