Things may still change, but I have the following plans :

1). Rebalance all weapons so they are adhere to a Master Formula (more on this later).

2). Tweak the max weight of polearms down slightly so the RTs become more manageable.

3). Polarms will generally be better at suitedness, and 2 handers at balance.

4). The weapon group will have more RT than 2 handers (explained below).

4). Polearms have more stat variety, as swords (at least 2 handers) tend to slice better than they stab.

5). All polearms will be able to hit from pole range.

The big "fix" for polearms and staves will be from rebalancing everything to a Master Formula. Here is how that will work..

A weapon group's RT determines how large of a stat pool that weapon gets to allocate.

2 handed weapon groups have a bonus to this pool size.

The pool size assumes a weapon of 5 density.

Every stone of weight increase adds one to this pool. Every stone of decrease substracts one from this pool.

Templates for each of the weapon groups have been created that adhere to these new formulas. The templates themselves define a "cap". Materials used in forging and the quality of the finished product determine how close to the cap you come.

Note - I have left the door open for "improving" weapons past this cap, but it is unlikely to come until Combat has settled down.

Staves are very similar to blunts, but blunts will focus on suitedness, and staves on balance.

The Weaponsmithing system is still a few months off. As I've said before, I need to get Barbarians done in time for the upcoming changes. Any time leftover will be going into this.

Hope that clarifies things for you.
