>>1) Tools lying to you. Prediction says you hit light edge, analyze says its crossbows. Rarely happens to me, but just knowing it could is an issue.

This is actually what I'm talking about with Analyze. A large aspect of tool bonding is reducing the chance of getting an inaccurate reading. That's being removed in favor of something I'm not ready to talk about yet.

>>2) Not all tools are created equal, by this I mean theres not a message for each aspect of the tool. With things like mirrors only giving you 3 out of 5 possible aspects.

That's going away.

>>1. with my tezarite, always bugged me when i'd just see my reflection like a normal mirror rather than get the prediction with GAZE.

Not sure what the problem is here. Seeing your reflection in the mirror is intended for when you aren't using it to predict (not aligned, etc.) It is a mirror after all.

>>2. some sort of tool implemented for Heritage house folks.

As noted in the initial post -- Note that I'm not really looking for "New abilities" or "New tools" --. I'm well aware that Heritage House doesn't have a tool but that's outside the scope of this discussion.

>>My issue with the tool system is that they dont seem to bond and grow well for me. I never get critical hits I guess. Id love to see some work on this. Ive had the same mirror for years but it never attunes to me so I dont really feel a need to use it other than for a little rp every now and then. They should feel a lot more personal.

The way bonding works is rigged against you worse than most casinos. That's honestly my personal #1 complaint against the system. That will be fixed.

>>Some tools giving more precise messaging than others. This doesn't feel like a fair division among the sects.

This is going to remain. My goal is not to make all the tools clones of each other. It is likely that the tools will end up more differentiated than they are now. You shouldn't just go "I'm a Tezzie, therefor I must use a Mirror. QED.".

>>Some tools requiring two hands and others requiring one (I'm thinking of bowl vs. bones).

I haven't decided if this will change or not.

>>The bowl dropping on the ground for a critical failure. I've never lost a bowl that way but it just bothers me when important things get ripped away from my character.

I don't see why the character can't automatically pick it back up just like you pick up your bones after throwing them.

>>I'd like to see tools be easier to alter. Not sure they are at all now?

Mechanically they're simple to alter. They always have been -- though the update I made about two years ago lets them have LOOKs as well as TAPs. There just weren't GMs willing to do tool alterations. For what it's worth the one merchant I know of who would currently do tool alterations has never been asked to do one.

>>Finally, as an unsected, it would be annoying to me if there were tool penalties for being such. I already give up on all the perks.

I haven't decided on this one yet.
