Okay, that out of the way, I want to make this announcement on the general forums well in advance of 3.0's release so people will be prepared for it.

Teleologic Sorcery represents a very unnatural and fundamentally wrong way to manipulate Fate. This doesn't have to be your IC view, but it is canonical fact. The basic idea is that as a Moon Mage uses Teleologic Sorcery to force Fate to do unnatural things it damages their connection to the Plane of Probability, which in turn means the more they have to force Fate if they want to manipulate it (through spells like Tangled Fate or Tezirah's Veil).

Much like Outrage for a Necromancer this will tick down naturally over time as you're logged in (Capping out at around 3 hours a day) at a linear rate. There are two important exceptions to that: At low levels of corruption the drain will be much slower and it will never, ever, go away entirely. Once you cast a Teleologic Sorcery you are forever tainted, even if only to the slightest degree (And the bottom cap is, indeed, very slight).

Will this make it hard for the dedicated Teleologic Sorcerer to train astrology through prediction? Yes. This is part of the reason I recently integrated astrology into Teleologic Sorcery spells - They both use and teach astrology in 3.0.

I make no effort to hide that this is an all down side mechanic, but I do think it strengthens the RP related to Teleologic Sorcery. In 3.0 backfires can be drastically reduced through skill and justice is easily skirted. This adds a very real, and unavoidable, price to consider before using the spells and more importantly adds a real reason to not use them aside from an RP pat on the back. Please keep in mind that I like players using sorcery or I wouldn't be doing all this work on the system (And there's more to come post 3.0), but I also want it to be a significant choice and not just another spellbook.

This will be on test and in plat as soon as a small technical hiccup that is out of my control gets resolved. I will be monitoring the results and tweaking numbers as needed.

And, yes, for those who obsessively keep track of cryptic hints GMs drop - this would be the project that will make Malzard smile.
