Rare Types
Crimson Sapphire
- Truly rare, is of a delicate rose to peachy color, usually featuring one or two stars.
Imperial Sapphire
- A rare kind of sapphire with seven rays instead of the more common six, called an imperial sapphire in tribute to the Seven Star Empire.
Phantom Sapphire
- Sold during the Holy Festival 392 in Blanve's Bounty. Harvested from underground caverns within a single mountain in the Himineldar Shel range, this gem was nearly overlooked due to its tendency to blend in with the surrounding rock. The stone retains a subdued fire enriched by the presence of heavy mineral deposits surrounding the crystal during its formation, much like a cloak of shadows. Named for its elusive and deceptive appearance, the sapphire has been magically enhanced to display an array of colors matching the spectrum of the heavens above. As the time of day or type of light changes, the inner hues of the sapphire changes colors. In the night's semidarkness, the phantom sapphire exhibits a midnight blue hue. Under indoor lighting, the phantom sapphire exhibits a shadowy grey hue. In the daylight, the phantom sapphire exhibits a bright ultramarine hue.
Star Sapphire
- The common name for any sapphire displaying the property of asterism, which is an impurity that causes the appearance of a multi-rayed star when light strikes the gem.
Tempest Sapphire
- A stormy mixture of blue and grey with just a hint of darkness in its depths.
Twilight Sapphire
- Usually colored a deep blue, has at least three stars upon its polished surface. The finest examples have one large star in the center with two or three smaller ones around it. One of the gems worked by Immokokkon and Sons.
