The eclipsed token is commonly used to modify the appearance of a Moon Mage's shadow servant. Not being such a mage, you're fairly certain you couldn't activate such a device.

Were the eclipsed token to be activated, the following modifications to a servant would be made:

 Base Description: "an eclipsed Servant"
 Long Description: "an eclipsed Shadow Servant limned in a faint coronal aura of silvery-white light"
 LOOK Description: "This Shadow Servant is a study in high-contrast darkness, its form rimmed with a faint, Grazhir-white light.  Its arms are marked by thin, darkly glowing rings of shadow illumination, and its body is a perfect, light-drinking sphere of absolute blackness highlighted by a shimmering halo behind it.  Its mouth is a silent, crescent-shaped opening that mimics lunar phases as it moves, giving the creature an otherworldly expression."

These are compatible with the scroll system for alterations. You must use this item as the base when you GET your scroll if you wish to have it altered.
